NEW YORK - Service Corp. International Monday said it would acquire competitor Alderwoods Group Inc. for $856 million to cut costs and expand its network of funeral homes

I like your idea, I will give it some thought.
However, new formulas and chemicals are replacing the use of formaldehyde.
Well have to go, my spring sale is on now.

I happen to have a picture of the sign in front of the Ronald McDonald Funeral Home, a tombstone. Would you like to supersize that? Yeah, guess I'll have to, he weighs 300 pounds.

A long time ago but they still shove a trocar in your gut to pump it in. BTW, formaldehyde is a gas, the liquid is formalin. Ever pith a frog? No, but one pithed on me once.

Without getting into a lot of detail, as much body gas is removed at the time of prep. Embalming is done by inserting needles behind the ears. In the case of autopsy (a carving as it called) then there are extra things done for embalming/prep.
kb2vxa -- please do not get these people scared or make them think they will be in pain, when they are on the prep table, when their time comes.

Yes, a layaway plan is available at most funeral homes.
I call it the pay now die later plan. it takes all burden off of your loved ones at the time of your departure from this life. All of your wishes for your remembrance are known ahead of time so, your family doesn't have to worry about whether you are pleased with the final result.
