Is there anyone who has used there ic-t81a for satellite communications (2M/70cm)? Can it be done by programming transmit and receive frequencies in memory channels and using the multi switch to toggle between the two sets of memories? Thanks.

I have used the IC-T81A for satellite work with the Arrow antenna. I used two T81As one for Tx the other for Rx. They cannot be programmed to work two bands at once. Toggling between the two frequencies would be very difficult especailly if you work alone. Try the TH-F6A from Kenwood. That radio is very good for what you want to do. It can be on two bands at once Tx on one and Rx on the other. Good luck. The easy sats are a blast. - Bill - N2WEC
