LITHUANIA on 14.255, I was just listening to nothing on that frequency while working on the computer, and there he was, calling CQ.

That's part of the "Magic" of amateur radio, you just don't know who or where the next voice you hear is coming from.
Could be ANYONE from ANYWHERE !!!

The concerns with the null in the sunspot cycle and all be dang'd.
I have also left the dial on a frequency and gone into the Zen that the ether noise can produce only to hear the first faint signal of a calling station. It is a great feeling to be the first before the pile-up starts.
