Keep putting the word out!

Someone at the Canadian Licensing Authority needs toi do something about this crook. They keep giving him new callsigns!

He was using VE7RCP or something like that. and ALSO had VE8AA back in 1998 or so when he took me for $100.00 for a KW-2000E transceiver. I contacted the R.C.M.P. up there in B.C. and they visited him twice.
He promised to pay me back, but then sent me a check for $100 canadian after I paid him $100 U.S. The check bounced THREE MONTHS later (which can easily happen with a Canadian bank!http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

By the way, his name LAST time was Chris Pringle instead of John, and he used P.O. Box 108 at some town. I have the info here somewhere... and he made his 'kill' via n ad he placed on Usenet newsgroups. Where did you find his AD this time?

We need to get them to catch and stop this swine before something really bad happens to him. I had hams up in 7 land offering to nab him when he came over the border.

Well, it seems that both you and I have purchased the same 451A! #I have been trying for the last 3 months to "recieve" my radio, and up until a month ago receiving email that it must be the border tightening down on parcels.

My request for info have gone unanswered for the last month. #I am out $180--just enough to be insulting.

Based upon the info here, I understand that this guy is a fraud. #Maybe I should take a trip to Surrey and knock on his door!

What a punk--

The address I used for the guy was:

VE7NVI
John Pringle
13254 - 112 B Avenue
Surrey BC
Canada
V3R 2H5

At least, that's where I sent my hard earned cash for the IC451A--

I am another victim of John Pringle's fraudulent acivities. He is even still running and ad posted Feb. 20 2002, 16:46 " Have a Hull 255 HF SSB Marine ........" what suppesed to be mine as a trade in for Tigertronics TNC and 2 meter FM base radio what was shipped to him in Canada. He did NOT ship the Hull radio as he suppose to.
Someone should take care of this individual and stop him from placing here his ads and collecting "free equipment" as a result of his fraud.

Thanks for reading,

I too have been a victim of Pringle's fraudulent activities. Pringle placed an advertisement on the QRZ url for an hf radio. Pringle's adv. included digital photos including the serial number of what appeared to be a "mint" condx. radio, reputing the radio as working "FB".
Aprox. six weeks after sending an International Money Order and extensive e-mail correspondence which included numerous nonsensical excuses for delay I received an hf radio made by the same Mfg. but with a different serial number and in poor physical and electronic condx.; Too make matters worse, he included power cables for a different brand radio which "toasted" the radio when hooked up to power source; Furthermore, sloppiest packing job I have ever seen.
This man is a fraud and a disgrace to mankind and amateur radio.
Do not do business with this reprobate.

Do we really have the time to do background checks on these people?

Give your local shops the business....shoot...especially if they've been around for years....sometimes we have to travel a bit to get to them...but at least we knowthey are there!!!

plus...get into a club....a little more monitoring of themselves and least likely to burn you...or eachother.

BUY NEW ONLINE if you have to....I've had great results that way...take a little longer top save up, and usually if it sounds too good to be true....

Need I really complete that statement?

Regards to all...

wow
all these people ripped by the same person.
i can see where everybody has the right to be mad.
and even get madder when nothing can be done about it.
but to go as far as to say kill him for the right kind of money?
thats going a little far with it, dont you think?
i mean, kill someone over some electronic equipment.. well in that case, kill someone over anything.
is this how HAM ops are?
if so, perhaps i dont really want to be a HAM op after all.

I have NO COMMENT abt K8CPA's perspective, other than to say it's the first time I've seen a five-digit number in the Lookup Counter here . . . ;-)

FYI - this is the same guy as VE7JZ. The guy needs two names and two callsigns as he's such a fraud. Email me if you need additional details for how he ripped me off.
