During the hey-day of the Space Age at the height of the Cold War, the Soviet Union held a distinct advantage over the U.S. in accomplishments in space. The untold story is of the Missing Cosmonauts. The ones that 'disappeared' or were nobody to begin with. The ones that went up but never came down. Here is a site about a listening station in Italy that tracked all the early flights of that era. The brothers running this station got a mention in the late '60s in Readers Digest - then nothing.

Seems as if there was a high price to get those early advantages, kept secret for many years. Unlike many stories of what you'll read or hear today, these events actually happened.

Quote[/b] ]The incredible, disturbing real-life events which are presented on this site are being uncovered for the first time outside the restricted community of 'insiders' who have, for reasons unknown, decided to protect the secrecy of the Soviet Establishment.
Read on, everything you will find is true.

What about the NASA astronauts who disappeared? Two Gemini veterans who rose to fame and were all over TV in the mid 60's, and then -- POOF -- were gone? There is no record of them at NASA, but I remember them.

Major Anthony Nelson
Capt. Roger Healey.

Now seen only rarely in reruns...

Oh shoot -- due to previous posts, I was being facetious based upon a presumtion that the story was a hoax. #

I meant no disrespect to any individuals (heros, really) who died in the quest to win the space race. #Indeed, I have the utmost respect for everyone who was part of that effort, regardless of which side they were on.
