Over the last 3-4 days, I have typed replies to threads, some of them quite lengthy, only to have them dissappear into cyberspace. When you click on add reply, the board, instead of displaying the message, goes back to the main forums display.
Is it me ?.............
Or anyone else having such difficulties ?
I know, type reply to Word, then copy and paste.
If they were quite large Bill are you sure you allowed enough time for the reply to load prior to exiting the site? Just a thought……..

It happen to me once when I clicked on the "Add Reply" button, but that was sometime ago.
I figured it was just a "fluke" (no, not the meter).
Yep, one of my replies intended for this forum is now floating around in cyberspace. It's was probably better that it's there instead of here. I don't consider myself to be that important here (there are others here that wouldn't argue that point http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif ).

Ikonoboard definitely does strange things!
Sometimes it takes a minute, or more, for the post to register. Some people get a bit anxious and upload the same message 2, 3, 4, or more times. Then I have to come through and delete all but one of the replies.
It is just one of the "quirks" of Ikonoboard.

Pasting from the clipboard is a very good idea. I have been saved a few times by using that trick, myself. Although on rare occasions, I have lost a post no matter what I tried to do to get it on the board. In reflection, I just figured it must have been my "Guardian Angel" watching over me, because I wasn't all that flattering in my retort, and it was probably best that the reply "disappeared"!

I can tell you from personal experience what I've done that's made me lose posts. #After reading a thread, I invariably click the forum name on the navigation bar at the end of the thread, as opposed to hitting the "BACK" button on the browser. #It's a quick way to refresh for latest posts in a forum.
Most of the time I post in "Quick Reply", and you'll notice there's less than an inch separating the "Quick Post" button and the navigation bar below. #I don't know how many times I've typed a reply and clicked the navigation bar instead of "Quick Post", but it's 100% fatal to a post - POOF!
It has taught me to do the following:
1) #copy my post, then
2) #preview for errors and links that don't work, then
3) #click "Quick Post" or "Add Reply"
The copy part saves the post should I inadvertently click the navigation bar in error, which I often do. #I can't say for sure this is how you're losing your posts, but I know I've lost plenty this way. #WTF!

I give up,
3 lost responses just this morning.
Is it me.....or is it Memorex ?
never mind.
The worst thing about Iconboard is the way it seems to strip any sign of intellect from some people's posts. I mean, there is no way they can be that ignorant, so it is obviously some quirk of Iconboard. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

I am notorious for composing a message, previewing it, and then forgetting to hit the "add reply" button.

OK, Enough already, just lost 2 more.
Has to be something locally.
Maybe the Ikonboard software known that everything I post is Bravo-Sierra and just deletes it as a matter of general operating principals.
Back to 17 meters.
