I also have a G5RV with a TS2K. But I was running 1500W with an AL-82 afterburner. That's the problem with being an alligator with small ears.

Your post infers that you were transmitting, instead of LISTENING ! If you were to LISTEN, you might HEAR something ! ! ! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Well, you've faded into the BC noise now......
Well, only the second QRZ person I've worked (I think) on the bands.
Nice QSO, Danny.

That QSO held up surprisingly well. #Usually 40M has an S-9+ noise floor after 01:00Z in my area. #Thank you, Jim. #You're my first SSB HF contact with a QRZer. #Hope there's plenty more like that one.
Very cool.

(WOOPS: I tried with very limited success to talk to Dave, WX7B a couple weeks ago. Never really worked out. He could hear me at 1500W but I couldn't copy him at 100W)

Hellya! I had a ball this last Sunday afternoon. I worked a bunch of guys in the CT, MD, and VA area around 18.150. It was one station after the other and they were all really interesting to talk to - turned into a 4 hour ragchew. Sorry I didn't hear you. I think just about everybody was running QRO because the band got flakey at times. I was running 1200W. The weak link is my G5RV so I know I don't hear all that well.
If I'm on this Sunday I'll post in here and we can try to hook up. I get a kick out of doing stuff like that and you'd be a welcome addition to the log.

Danny,
I looked back on the 'chicken scratch pad' and it was Sunday afternoon on 18.159 at 22?? Z.
I worked a BUNCH of European and 1 African station Sunday morning. I have a new respect for 17 after that.
Won't be around Sunday afternoon, I'm working a Special Event Station, W3C, and there is no 17 meter antenna. Will be on 15, 20 & 40.
Sorry, maybe next week.

W3C will be operating today (Feb 4) from about 1500z until about 0100z, and tomorrow (Feb 5) from 1500z until 2200z.
We are set up for 10-15-20 & 40. Our published frequencies are 7.270 and 14.270, but can be found most anywhere primarily on 20 & 40. 10 & 15 were DEAD yesterday ! But that's to be expected with 0 sunspots.
Listen for us today and tomorrow, would LOVE to QSO with any & all QRZ folks.

I'm listening between 7225 and 7300 but haven't heard W3C so far. Several BC stations booming in, but the band is definitely open.

No,
It is part of the Washington County Sportsman Show.
This is an annual event where vendors display everything and anything related to outdoor sports, most of the emphesis in on Hunting, Fishing, Fur Trapping, Boating, camping, etc. etc. etc.
Had some very nice taxidermy items. 2 beautiful fox mountings, one a red fox, the second was coal black. First time I ever saw a black fox.
I may or may not get to go back tomorrow, we are expecting 3-6 inches of snow tonight. I'll cry if I can't go, had a BALL working 20 meters today.
BTW, That's Washington County Pennsylvania, 25 miles south of Pittsburgh.
