This is nothing new. Erythromycin and its derivatives are known to have hepatotoxicity in a small percentage of patients. For most, the effects are completely reversible upon discontinuation of the drug.

The warning about the bowel infection hits kinda close to home. He isn't kidding, they tell me I'm real lucky to have pulled through it as well as I have (which depends on your perspective whether I've pulled through well or not.)

The French consume significant amounts of alcohol daily (they also don't shun animal fats in their diet) and have one of the best longevity ratings of all countries behind Japan which is #1.

yep folks that live accross the pond (ocean) don't eat as much fat as Americans do. That's one reason why their women are so slinder and good looking.

I take Vicodin on a regular basis for severe pain, and one of the ingredients is Tylenol, which can cause cirrhosis of the liver in large doses. #I have my liver checked on a regular basis to make sure there are no problems; everything is good so far.

Of course, it also helps that I have been able to use fewer doses of Vicodin as my legs continue to heal.

The tylenol is probably not doing anything for the pain either. Another government bull sh*t requirement. The Vicodin without the tylenol is much more difficult to get a doctor to write a script for.
I took tylenol #3 codene daily for 5 yrs for back pain. I won't touch tylenol now unless its in a pain pill I must take, which is almost never these days.

You guys know all the goodies! "There is no pain you are receeding, a distant ship's smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves... I have become comfortably numb."

FYI, Tylenol is ibuprophen which does nothing for pain unless it's caused by muscle tension. Pharmaceutically it's known as a smooth muscle relaxant. Before it became OTC I was given a prescription for 2,000mg (2g) doses and I sure was relaxed! If you want to get drunk without the head just tale Tylenol. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Zocore can also cause liver damage and folks that take it have to be checked every 3 months, so, I have been told.

Doctor: "Mr Dibbs we have good news and bad news, your toe nail fungus problem is in complete remission......but you will need a liver transplant within the next 4 weeks."

Mr Dibbs: "Is that what they call the benefit outweighing the risk doctor?"

What I've found amazing is the number of people who take pills for some condition, then they have to take other pills to counteract a condition the original pills create.

Just amazing stuff. Or some of the ones you take that if you stop taking them, the reaction is so large you could literally die, they have to taper you off them.
