Quote[/b] ]The group said more than 160 riders participated in the fifth annual No Pants Subway Ride before police halted their No. 6 train about 5 p.m.

Arrests on the Pelham Line (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060123/ap_on_fe_st/no_pants_subway_ride;_ylt=AuvMwpFYyeaJB2M7GqbcjVas 0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3NW1oMDRpBHNlYwM3NTc-)

Heck, they got guts. I just try to avoid the unidentifiable stuff on the floors and seats...

No pants in the subway??? Do you think that is a big deal?

There is going to be a satellite scheduled to be hand launched from the Amateur Radio International Space Station (ARISS) a space vehicle on Jan 3rd.
It is called "SuitSat". I kid you not. It is actually a Russian Orlan space suit that will become a satellite. It also has no pants..but will contain a battery operated 2-meter transmitter.
Its call sign will be RSORS. If you have any receiver or transceiver for VHF you can listen for its transmissions on 145.990 MHz. Please give the SuitSat a clear frequency...Don't transmit any hot pants.

For further information see:-

w2ilp (Interspacially Lost Pants?)...Nah...The space suit came with matching balanced pants.

Gene Hackman must have had something to do with it, The Taking of Pelham 123's pants. Or was it David Letterman's production company?

All I know is that the last place I want to run around with no clothes on is the subway..

Heck it's pretty brave to wear shorts down there...

The NY Subway line invaded by the no pants group was the Pelham line. This line goes from eastern Manhattan and gets elevated into the east Bronx. The end of the line is Pelham Bay Park. At Pelham Bay Park you can get a bus to Orchard Beach, which is part of the park. Now I have seen many people in summer time taking the Pelham, line trains and wearing nothing but bathing suits to avoid having to change at a beach house. Nobody made a big deal about females as well as males not wearing pants or shirts.

I dunno if it was "no pants" that got the cops to issue tickets. I think it was just that they were creating a nuisance by blocking the human traffic. I think that they did that just to get attention. Going without pants in a NY subway is not such a big deal. During rush hours the people get packed into the train like sardines and couldn't have enough room to look down and see anything that might be seen on pant-less passengers.

w2ilp (Interborough Local Pantless)...or was it the express?

Brilliant idea. You can't get robbed that way unless they take your shirt.

Asks..Were they wearing those color coded shorts/ - White, brown & yellow?

He should know that people in NYC don't pay much attention to colors in the subway. This is being politically correct. If people were not color blind they wouldn't travel by subway, because they could recognize red traffic lights, and drive cars.

The old color code was.
If you're white, your alright.
If your brown, stick aroun'.
If your Black, stand back!

This old color code is now obsolete, just like the Morse code soon will be.

Kids are still taught about "Pale Green Pants with nobody inside them" by Dr. Sooze....and "It's Not Easy Being Green" is sung by Kermit on Seesame Street. If anything green skins or shorts might still be a cause of looking to see who might be wearing them....not white, brown or yellow.

Who wears green short shorts? Who wears green short shorts? It won't matter when we all wear Green short shorts.

w2ilp (Insensitive Lime Pigment?)...Get out of the subway and into the sunshine.

Well I knew a P.O. that once wore Under-Roos to work. He never lived it down. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

OTOH, for those who are wondering, this is a picture of the 'event'. It went without a hitch for 6 years but then there's always tommorrow... Homeland Security at work.

I was a little worried when I read this post. As i'm sure you're aware the word "pants" means something slightly different in England English (for the want of a better phrase).

You mean English English?

Never have heard Austin Powers use "pants" in a sentence though, so I don't know.

Unfortunately, obese people find it hard keeping their pants up. They have no waist line to keep a belt tightened on and their pants can only be secured if they wear suspenders.

Humpty Dumpty had a similar problem. He claimed that his belt was actually his collar.
He could get away with that because he wore no visible pants, and had no visible reason to do so as he never came out of his shell.

How come a pair of pants or a pair of trousers es los pantalones tambien?...and you can also find a pair of panties being falsely pluralized...How come we never talk about a pair of G-Strings? Is it because it only takes one g-string to cover the subject?

What's this no pants business all about ?

In the UK when we talk about no pants, what we mean is no pants, those short things you wear to stop the family jewels from rolling all over the place. And when you gotta no pants, thisa means thata you are runnin around witha all your bits and bobs, or lumps and gobs
gettin plenty of good fresh air.

I do it every day! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Nobody commented about my post which asked why pants are always plural. #But g0gok did make redundently plural posts about no pants. #I guess that pants may also be pluralized in the UK because family jewels, bits, bobs, lumps and gobs are all pluralized.

BUT Lets call it what we may; remembering that....
