I’ve heard everything from this IS the Diamond X 150M, to this is a good cheapo reproduction to this antenna is pure crap. Specs. look pretty much identical and I have heard that if you buy the Tram, a tube of good flexible RTV silicone and upgrade the hardware prior to installation, you pretty much save yourself $150 to spend on three more Tram 1480’s or a decent little dual band rig to use coupled to it.

What do you guys and gals say and if you don’t mind saying, how long has your Tram 1480, or it’s higher priced competition been in service?

I'll tell you what. I bought a Tram dual band mag-mount antenna for my car on eBay and I'm very happy with it! I'm using it with a Radio Shack HTX-245 HT running on the car power. I get terrific range with this set up here in MA, RI, and NH. The price was very good too!

Hi Ken, and thanks for your input. I also am running a Tram dual bander on an NMO mount for mobile. It sure seems to be a great antenna so far, seems to really reach out their well beyond the Maldol it has replaced. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Have been running the 1480 for a year now....... all I can say is there are a lot more expensive antennas out there. This antenna is a gem and I highly recommend it! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
