I have been licensed a short time and just found out I may (medically) only have a short time to chew the rag.

Tech. License. No CW yet.

What is least expensive 3-band used or new base or base-mobile system, and what would I pay? #Where? QRP would also be OK.

Dear Perry, I am so sorry to read about your condition. My father had the same thing. As you are probly aware there are alot of cheap UHF/VHF radios out there, just keep checking QTH.com, QRZ.com. E.HAM.com and the ARRL website. I am recently licensed myself, and I'll tell you what I did before I got my first radio. I used an online program called EchoLink. You register with your call sign and use your computer microphone and speakers. I have talked all over the world using this. Just look up EchoLink in your sarch engine.
