Re: #Bush takes side of Playboy playmate (http://msnbc.msn.com/id/10606237/)
Note the lead sentencesQuote[/b] ]White House lends a hand to Anna Nicole
Bush takes side of Playboy playmate in fight for late husband's estate.
WASHINGTON - Playboy playmate Anna Nicole Smith has an unusual bedfellow in the Supreme Court fight over her late husband’s fortune: the Bush administration.
Then read the rest of the article.
Not sure why we had to have two identical threads..... well I guess the addtion of quoted text was really nice........ now, are you sure you are all ready for the answer? Are you really sure? Okay, here it is.........
It's a Texas thing, you wouldn't understand.

The point I was making has nothing to do with Texas - it was simple the fact that MSNBC took what basically is a non-event as another opportunity to bash GWB.
If you read the entire story, nowhere does it validate nor justify the claims about Bush that it makes in the opening headlines.
Good enough for National Enquirer readers though!

Mike:
I read this article a couple of times and I'm not seeing the "Bush bashing". Using this article as an example of bias is an extreme reach.
"Bush" in the opening paragraph refers to the administration (to me) obviously. I don't see the bias/problem unless you're objecting to the linkeage of the names of Anna Nicole Smith and "Bush" in the same story. I didn't get a big HaHa about Anna Nicole Smith and "W" in the same story.
BTW, regardless of what one thinks of ANS (NICE initals), I think the administration lawyers are right on this one. This isn't a "non-event" due to the high profile nature of the whole Marshall case. Despite the fact that she's a bimbo, I hope she wins. She's clearly entitled to that money even though she's kind of creepy. We can't selectively change laws just because somebody is creepy or a bimbo.

Well "Bush bashing" was an obvious poor choice of words on my part. #I guess what I was alluding to is that if one only read the lead sentences #then one would get the impression that GWB was personally involved with ANS and her case. #The rest of the article doesn't support that impression. #Kind of like reading those lurid Headlines on the National Enquirer while in the Safeway checkout line. #
Bimbo, Babe, Blonde Bombshell, or all of the above, I agree with you - J. Howard Marshall II married her and she is legally entitled to all benefits and endowments due a widow as prescribed by the law of the land. #I suspect that if Marshall had married an older woman, say 65 - 70 years old or so, the courts would have seen it differently in the first place.
