Well, the Texas Rangers used to be the Washington Senators who were known for being "first in war, first in peace, and last in the American League"! They still try to uphold that tradition.

Ah MLB #- 5 minutes of excitement packed into 3 hours of sheer boredom. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

And those 5 minutes usually happen during the time I have to go to the john. #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

If MLB players go on strike, the networks can always show the grass growing or house painting tournaments. # http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Ah, but the powers of Baseball Genius, the enduring knowlege of the sport, the strategy of the suicide squeeze, sacrificing or swinging away, the double steal, scoring on a short fly to right, all distinct pleasures lost on those not familiar with the workings of the game. Europeans tried - and failed to master this sport, which is one of the few aerobic sports that also gives upper body strenght and excellent hand-eye coordination (probably why it's not an Olympic sport anymore - unlike snowboarding). Not for those with a short attention span, unless they have a TIVO. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Well, bloody good for them! #I have infinitely better things to do than to watch a bunch of prissy, over-paid, whiny idiots who do less work than a file clerk and get paid more than the CEO of any corporation!! #Did I mention that they whine and complain LOUDLY when they don't get their way?

There are several Central American and Puerto Rican leagues that are going full bore right now.

Pitchers and Catchers for all teams today. Between this and the Masters Golf Tournament, I get to take a few hours vacation from Winter. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
