This started with a phone call, after talking with "Mike" I decided he would not be happy with the radio I had for sale and suggested he not buy mine.
A short time later I was contacted by a female "kitty" who wanted a present for her spouce, and wanted my radio. no problem. suprise, she sent a canandian postal money order from Nunavut Canaduh, with requested I send the radio to address in vermont us. care of "Greta" for, you guesed it "Mike". So I get an international money order and a request to ship the radio to 3d party.. now it's sounding really fishy.. However by this time I have taken the money order to the bank, 4-6 week deley while funds are collected fom canada. The bank put this hold on the MO., not me.

I have been spamed by people I've never heard of before, claiming to be doctors and who ever, telling me what an honest guy this Mike is and I should send the radio asap and don't spoil his christmas. Now the e-mails have become threatening. I'm even being threatend by his friends who are e-mailing me.. YIKES!!!

Each one telling me I should send the radio ( before funds clear )
and each one threatening in one form or another.
I tried to recover the check from the bank so I could send it back, but the bank said they have already sent it out for collection. So now I have to wait.
This really bothers me that I told the guy I felt he would be better off buying someone elses radio.
He and his friends decieved me to buy it,
decieved me to send ti 3d party,
decieved me in sending a fourgien money order.
I simply suspect the check is either fraud, forged or stolen..

gmail.com. All free email addresses. Although I use one as my primary one myself because of the storage space it offers, I'm sure its just one person spawning emails.

Personally I would contact gmail and let them know whats going on, they can probably determine if its one person, and let it go from there. Meanwhile, I'd simply tell them that you bank has yet to release the funds to you, and until they do, no radio, and if that isn't acceptable, you'll send them the MO back, or they may cancel it.

Something tells me you'll keep getting threats.

The thing about a money order is that if it is lost, stolen, etc, it can be cancelled.

So the issuer can definetely cancel it if they feel you are "defrauding" them.

I wouldn't even THINK about sending the radio due to the fact they want it going to a different address. The likely excuse is that they want to avoid customs duties, my reply to that is that you simply will not break Canadian law by participating in fraud to allow said fees to be avoided.

But thats why you send a money order-its secure to an extent because if the person claims they never got it, you can file a claim on it, and if it hasn't been cashed it can be cancelled. Sure, they wind up eating the issuing fee, but thats the price you pay for that.

It could be an honest deal, but an honest person would understand the need for you to have a cleared check before sending. They would expect the same.

And, if you haven;t already, from now on in any ad I would clearly state that the radio will not be shipped till funding clears, and if that is not acceptable, then you will not sell the radio. Makes it easier. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Bottom line, I think this is the correct statement.

geeze !!!

I said I would not send the radio, they threatened me to send it or else.
I told them I would return the money only, when and if the money order clears the bank.
Now they give me a third address in canada and say send the money there !!!!! WOW!!!
At this point I will be really suprised if the money order clears canaDUH postal......
Well, it's been entertaining to say the least.
for your entertainent, here are a few excerpts from thier e-mails"
first from Dr Judy: Quote[/b] ]Are you off your medications?...
You must have been dropped on your head by your Mom or Dad. No wonder you're wacked. You're a great case study for a journal. Paranoia and delusions at the same time.

And here's on from "Kitty" Quote[/b] ]A deal was made with you. That is a binding contract. Not carrying through with the deal, is a violation of a binding contract. You might get sued...for a breach of a contract as I have all the emails. You would be very wise to send the radio to the Burlington, Vermont address after the money order clears

Now here's one from Dr Glenn : Quote[/b] ]I received a frantic call from my cousin, Mike about a postal money order.

ok, well I guess you get the idea.
Bottom line, if te money order clears, I'm returning the money to somewhere in Valhalla where it came from..

Life is great .. Sometimes ya just gotta wonder..

Probably the same person just using mutiple email addresses.

Please don't group all Canadians in this boat. Most of us are honest and hard working.( Gotta pay for our governments mistakes some how!)

If your bank has put a hold on the money order, then I would suspect somethings wrong. I buy a fair amount of stuff through the US. And send money orders all the time. None of the sellers have ever had a problem with getting there money.

If your getting threats, report it to you local authorities. they will contact the police where buddy lives and investigate. DON'T DELETE THE EMAILS! keep them as proof. This kind of stuff is taken very seriously.

I'm sorry your having trouble with this guy. But don't let it sour you on selling across the border.

For all the grief, If you actually get the money I would send the radio to the requested address WITH delivery confirmation. I have not had any problems with Canada tradings at all. The one e-mail you quoted asks for the radio shipped AFTER payment clears, so do it. Get your sale through, and ignore the wackiness!!

a few of this mornings addresses are :
heckofit@gmail.com
thelittleredsnake@gmail.com
zigzagclunk@gmail.com
zigzagclunk@gmail.com
zippyzag@gmail.com
zipzagpop@gmail.com

boykoryan@gmail.com
essieshaer@gmail.com

ok well thast enough for now I think you get the idea.
I guess he has lots of free time.

Boy, does this deal stink! #Basically, this guy is threatening you to give him your property for nothing - the piece of paper he sent is worthless until cleared.

This is an attempt at robbery across the border. #I wouldn't be surprised if both the Canadian and American authorities would show some interest in this matter. #Canadian Customs would certainly take a dim view of such a blatant attempt to circumvent their laws by someone residing in their country. #If, in fact, any one of those emails was from someone other than the jerk who initiated all of this, the offense could also fall under Canadian conspiracy statutes.

He apparently passed a bad (forged, stolen, etc.) check, is making terroristic threats over the internet, is attempting to violate Customs laws...

If I were you, I'd ignore his threats and pursue the matter through the authorities immediately. #He's not in a position to do anything he threatens. #He's just a loser at a keyboard, too stupid to realize that he's put in writing all the evidence needed to prove his guilt, sort of like a bank hold-up note a dumb crook writes on the back of one of his own deposit slips. #Go after him... you'll spare other innocent folks the trouble of dealing with him, and the gene pool could always use the help.

Here's an e-mail from my bank,
apperently they have contacted my bank to try to get them to "pre-process" the check...

Greetings, Dan: I spoke to the
individual in Canada. He told me the
timeframe for the canadian item to clear
was 6-8 weeks and I let him know that it
should not take that long but once it is
sent it is out of our hands. I also told
him that this was no fault of yours. I
will contact our accounting department
and see if there is anyway we can
contact our processor that handles our
drafts. Thanks, 'mrs smith', Yelm Branch.

( name changed to protect the inocent. )

Isn't this fun..

It sounds like a pretty classic scam. Send the radio before the MO clears and then the MO turns out to be a fake and your on the hook for the amount.

Normally they will send the check for an amount greater than the purchase price and ask that you cash the check and send the overage via Western Union to yet another player in the game.

No honest person(s) would send you the type and volume of emails you have bene sent if this was legit.

You are absolutely within your rights to hold the radio until that MO clears the bank. If they were really worried about it getting there by Christmas, they would have sent you US funds.

There is no way I would ship it until the money has been collected.
