I see that there is a KA9RFE on the list, so that explains it. Wrong ham. Oh well....

I assume this is the same list as his radio nazi list from a few years ago. I know I made that one also which puzzled me at the time since I have never had a confrontation with him and don't honestly remember mentioning him or his activities on this forum. Guess just being a semi regular poster on the dreaded QRZ.com forums is enuf to make the list. Oh well. Beats the heck out of some of the other lists I have made in my life http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
I was just looking at the list again after I posted the above and am I blind or did W3SY not make the list? How could the poster boy for irreverence not make K1MAN's Nurd list? And isn't 'nurd' supposed to be spelled 'nerd'?

However, I note with dismay the list is actually more than one year old. I'd have hoped to be near the top of a newer one.

For those of you who did make the list:
It has oft' been said that...

Just as with Nixon's Enemies List, although originally conceived as a $hit list, historically it is looked upon as honorable mention.

HYUREKA! I now recall the only time I ever heard an obscenity on CW. 25 years ago, I heard someone refer
to a "vuit list" in a QSO. I knew what he meant by context, even without the h. I haven't thought it about in all these years. Seeing the $ in your post put it together for me. $ is ...-..- Clever, though inappropriate on the bands.

ok I'm over it.:p
Well I am on the list and do remember when he first came out with it. Yes, it originally was referred to by him as the "American Nazi" party list but was quickly changed. Obviously he got some heat somewhere and while he may act strange and do some stupid things, the man is a pretty shrewd individual. There was talk of the list "plankholders" getting t-shirts made to wear at Dayton. May look into that. We could probably get Riley to autograph it!

Since I DID make the list & for the life of me I can't remember anything other than a comment made on here that may have gotten me on it - I am thinking along the same lines as someone else said that he must skim this site & if you say ANYTHING against him you are on it.
Don't know whether to be P.O.'ed or proud - Since the opinion of a person like this means NOTHING I would have to say the list is worthless, as well.
He should print it on toilet paper - then at least it would be good for something!

Made that one too, and for no more then signing an anti war petition down in Iowa City, Iowa. That was before the protesters spilled what was supposed to be blood on the steps of the Old Capitol building. That was also before things started getting nasty is in Kent State and armed conflicts on campuses all over the country. As I understand it, his license has expired, but it's still sitting inside the 2 year 'grace window.' So, it's no good to transmit with, but he still holds it. I may be mistaken.
His license has expired, but the FCC allows applicants that have filed for renewal to continue operating while the license application is pending. That is, unless there are adverse findings involved. A practice called the "Red Light Rule" has been used to shut down pending applicants if they have unpaid obligations before the Commission.
Until and if the FCC issues a Forfeiture Order, converting his Notice of Apparent Liability to a financial obligation, I'm afraid he's going to be allowed to continue to operate.
If and when that happens, the real fun will begin. I have it by audio recording that Baxter claims that "he will continue operating until they physically take him off the air." So, the FCC and/or US Attorney may have to summon US Marshalls to do just that. I wonder, does the Marshall's Service accept volunteers? I might be willing to take a short trip up to Maine to help them out. I've got the right tools. Sledge hammer, bolt cutters, hack saws. Whatever it takes to "break glass in case of emergency." Ah, the sound of 6146's and 3-500Z.s biting the dust. And, the tinkle-tinkle of shattered mechanical filters.

If the U.S. Marshalls will take volunteer " special deputies " , I will gladly offer my services . I'll be really happy when Baxter is off the air for good . Idiots like him , we can do without . I don't think I'm on his list , but he is on my list of LIDS . There are a few from 8-land on that list as well and they know who they are and why the are on it . Actually if that stick were landing a bit more toward the hind end it could be Mr. Baxter himself.
Really, it's a religious issue.
There is a cult somewhere that believes people reincarnate not as animals, but as parts of animals, and that subsequent incarnations are retrograde. The cult believes that, a very long time ago, Baxter was a horse's head.

Hello all...
I must admit, I am totally ignorant of this K1MAN controversy, because I don't have HF privelages nor do I have equipment for recieving HF transmissions. However, I took the liberty of googling the callsign, and read some information in these regards. If I understand correctly, K1MAN is an amateur operater running a clandestine "broadcast station" on the amateur bands, in conflict with the FCC part 97 regs limiting amateur spectrum two 2-way comms only. I also understand his license has been suspended due to these infractions. Being licensed for less than a year, I wasn't aware this was going on. I did read on his website that he claims the ARRL and station W1AW violate the same regulations he is accused of violating, and that he is being unfairly punished....I think I understand this issue, but I would be interested in hearing some of the details, if someone wants to expand for those of us unfamiliar with this case...
From what I can tell, the logic behind Mr. Baxter's assertions that the ARRL is violating the same regs is flawed. I am not an ARRL member (yet), and I've heard a lot of things good and bad about the ARRL, but it seems to me that the ARRL operates under a club callsign, as apposed to an individual operators callsign, and that since the ARRL is an internationally recognized organization, with thousands of members across the country, the transmissions coming from W1AW have the endorsement of the amateur radio community, and the League members across the country collectively own and operate this equipment, as opposed to an individual licensee. Now, I need to go back and read part 97 thouroughly, but isn't a distinction made between the two? It seems to me that, as an individual operator, broadcasting bulletins etc. in this manner, without the "authority" or consent of the amateur radio community as a whole is basically an egotistical thing to do. The ARRL is not run by any individual, and has been operated for many years as a representative entity. The ARRL holds elections, to allow for democratic representation concerning its activities. There is no metaphoric "Nucleus" to the ARRL, no individual making decisions in its regards. It seems to me the case of K1MAN is totally different. It seems to me that the operation of his station is under his license, and he makes autocratic decisions about the content, scheduling, and function of his station. I read that he claims to be a part of an organization, called the American Amateur Radio Association, but is this organization something of his own creation and does it hold elections etc.? Does the K1MAN equipment belong to HIM, or his organization? Can he be voted out of the organization? What is the membership of this organization and do they have a say in what goes on?
I'm very interested if anyone can comment...

All you have to do is express an opinion that ham freqs should not be used for b'casting, or point out the portions of Part 97 that define the difference. That's all we did.

KE5FRF,
Hello,
# # #The difference between an Information bulletin and a broadcast is an information bulletin is a message directed only to amateur operators consisting solely of subject matter of direct interest to the amateur service, while a broadcast is a transmission intened for the reception by the general public either direct or relay. The problem with the K1MAN issue is that amateur's have this notion that an information bulletin has to be a "newscast", unfortunate there is no standardize format for information bulltins. An information bulletin under the rules has to be directed to the amateur community consisting solely material of direct interest to the amateur service.
# # #Information bulletins are not a club function, what I mean is anyone can run an Information Bulletin, you don't have to be a club to have that privilege. There are a number of information bulletins out there including W1AW, Amateur Radio Newsline, and even I myself run a bulletin on HF and VHF. The difference between a club station running a bulletin and a individual is a club station can compensate the conrol operator after 40 hours, and after a few other privision are met. While an individual station can not. I hope that help's you out little

Something else B did was to invite all listeners to call in, i.e. he did not limit respondents to the Amateur community. #He called it a "call in talk show." #And he used the venue to advertise his website. #Hence, he was broadcasting with a commercial interest.

And what about his, "organization"...Is it run by him, like a private business at which he is the head and makes the decisions, or is the leadership stucture of this organization elected by the "membership", and activity decisions made in the interest of the amateur community? Or is this organization soley the interest of Mr. Baxter, to perpetuate himself and his agenda in an egotistical fashion?
What content did he/they broadcast? Was it political in nature? Did it veer from radio related? Just interested.

It has oft' been said that...
'Tis better to be a nurd than a turd.
Just as with Nixon's Enemies List, although originally conceived as a $hit list, historically it is looked upon as honorable mention.
My heartfelt congratulations go out to those so honored.

I think its a NURD list because the N represents the word he used to use to call the list, but when people bitched, he made it into some acronym instead.
And, to be perfectly clear, that word rhymed with "YHATZEE".

I don't no nothing of the interworkings of his club, I will state that the FCC monitored his transmission and it was, according to them directed to the general public, thus he was broadcasting. The other thing was he was giving out the address to his commercial website over the radio (pecuniary interest) the problem with that is W1AW at the beginning of their bulletins does the same thing.

Now, this part had me rollin' in the aisles...
"AMP shows signs of improvement.
K1MAN is a really, really good person and a great man who doesn't have a vindictive bone in his body. Unfortunately, K1MAN is very much
misunderstood by his peers, because they simply don't have the massive intellect and the keen sense of ethical values with which the good Lord blessed K1MAN.
Ham radio is extremely lucky to have K1MAN on its side. Have faith
that he will always do the right thing."
How many idiotic/wrong statements in there?
1. K1MAN is a really, really good person
2. great man who doesn't have a vindictive bone in his body
3. K1MAN is very much misunderstood by his peers
4. they simply don't have the massive intellect and the keen sense of ethical values with which the good Lord blessed K1MAN
5. Ham radio is extremely lucky to have K1MAN on its side.
6. Have faith that he will always do the right thing.
What a joke.
Let's see if I can make this idiots list now!!

I don't think you can "make" the list anymore. When Herr Baxter originated the list it was in regards to a specific thread going on and he labeled the associated list as the "Nazi's", which he then quickly changed. Only the originals can be members and of course only the originals will be able to get the T-shirt. You guys will have to get your own "list" from him. #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

I think he is the stuff that dropped out of the above mentioned horse . I been trying to get on the list for some time now . I have even told Baxter so on the air . So far no luck . I'll just have to keep on a keepin on .

I've read enough about this kook on the web to understand now. It seems to be his ego and his arrogance that is getting him into trouble. I read that he sued the Boy Scouts of America for interfering with HIS illegal "broadcasts" during a jamboree. Of course, this is just what I read, but I can't imagine the kind of dirtbag who would sue the Boy Scouts for something like that! My guess this fellow suffers from "dillusions of grandeur" and justifies his existence with this stuff.

I've always despised the self-appointed. Mister Baxter has made my personal list of useless wastes of resources. Not important, just annoying and contemptible, and is in the bottom half as befits his anatomically equivalent function.

Oh happy recount! I'm only 33 on the list, not 36 as I thought.
But only WA8EMA qualifies for the gold shirt, with a big, blue one, in the banner "I'M NUMBER 1 ON BAXTER'S LIST!" Every one else wears their number on the back.
And, according to Mirriam-Webster, B did mispell "Nerd."

As Client Eastwood playing the role of "Dirty Harry" once said "Yeah, you're a legend in your own mind."
The scary thing is some people believe they are such legends, they have to use the radio and the internet to promogulate that image that they have in their own mind, and are so full of themselves, they have to make lists of people who seem to be against them so all of the supporters of thier mindtrip know who is on the 'excrement' list (PC version), and thusly should be avoided or ridiculed.
Of course, all of the topics about him on here just take the ego and place more concrete around it even more. #
He's getting exactly what he wants http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Of course, when I think of Mr Man, I think of the Austin Powers movies, where Dr Evil (err...Mr Man) sits in his "Lair" discussing with his supporters what he can do this week to cause ilk and more on the bands as well as the internet.
It seems like he is like Mr Evil in the sense that he sticks to the same gameplan and it works http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
