WOW! That's quite a story. You fared nicely, glad to say. Do you have any sense of how many people lost their homes during the last two hurricane seasons? Every now and then I'll read a news report that a lot of people have yet to recover from last year's Big 4, some of them living in remnants of their shattered homes. Have a lot of people decided to not rebuild and move elsewhere?

Also, I get the impression there's an extreme shortage of workers to do the rebuilding. Is it that way in your area?

Thanks for your interesting post.

In Satellite Beach, FL, we fared pretty well here, as we didn't experience the brunt of the storm. Lots of rain, though, but sustained winds were in the high tropical-storm-force range, with gusts into hurricane-force range. We lost power once, briefly. To the north of us, the city of Cocoa experienced a lot of flooding, which I found surprising as they were farther away from the storm center.

Yes, wilma was a bad one. 120mph pretty much everywhere on the penn.

My condo complex is crawling with workers, trucks, etc., from Arkansas, Ohio, Colorado, etc., hauling the broken trees, and hi-rise roofing material blown off.

Thanks for the report Dennis, I spent a winter in Deerfield Beach a few years ago (snowbird) and I kind of wondered how things were there. Hope things continue to go better, 73.
