What does that small lightbulb icon mean--the one that appears next to our callsigns when we post a message? Some are clear, others amber.

It's there to remind us that as amateurs, we should all know whether or not the lightbulb goes out in the fridge when the door's closed. (Should be on the next Extra exam right after the code goes south).
