This may be a really really dumb question, but why is it that any time the word NEW appears in any text it shows up in RED? Is this some kind of communist plot? I am Mystified by this. New New New nEW NEW

I'd assume you're having some kind of browser/url issue. In my experience with QRZ, the only time words show up in threads in red is when you have made a search; The posts containing your keywords would highlight them in red.

Notice in this url, http://www.qrz.com/ib-bin....l=meter (http://www.qrz.com/ib-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=5;t=105177;hl=meter)... hl=meter tells the forum software to highlight the word meter. If you look at the second post in that thread, you'll see meter is in fact red.

So, on your URL bar, are you seeing ;hl=new somewhere? Have you done a search for something "new" recently?

Probably shows up red because when you search for new posts, it adds that keyword in. If you surf normally to the post (ie, without checking for 'new posts') it doesn't appear to do that.....

Hm, ok. I always noticed it when I clicked new posts only, but hey, who knows. Could be this funky browser.

Could be worse, it could be highlighting every mention of CB, Code, No-Code, Bush, etc etc

Well...the mystery is partially solved. But why QRZ would introduce that in the middle of a text is beyone me....it's always been like this. How odd.

Eric-- I used to have that happen to me also however when I updated to Firefox 1.07 it doesn't occur anymore.

Do not be Mystified. Let me tell you that NEW is the most influential word in selling, I thought all Americans would appreciate that.

Everybody wants the latest, the state of the art, the newest, and that is why everything, especially food products are always advertised as NEW. And that is why the western world is full of fat people .
