Thumbing through my most entertaining reprint of the 1926 ARRL Handbook, one particular advertisement caught my eye. It begins: Don't Guess! Push the button and see!
I think that will be my new motto. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

A song to go with it: Who Let the Smoke Out! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I've been enjoying the 1926 reprint issue, too. #I'm impressed with the abundance of still-useful information from back then.
I noticed that the references to Morse code have it sounding as "di dar" instead of "di dah", as well as the older version of the phonetic alphabet.
I also like the advertisements, such as the one with the meter added to the panel.
This is a great bonus for the 2006 issue!

Do #you have a scan or link? Is Hiram still out there? There is much too much smoke in this world. -----

I guess that the wave shapes were different back then. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
