Hello all!

I purchased the new IC-2200H mobile unit and it just arrived today. I have not even plugged the thing in yet! I will be getting off work around 7pm tonight to try it out. Any users of this radio out there? i hope it makes a good mobile unit!

A great rig. I have had mine for about a year and a half, and it has never failed me yet. I get great audio reports all the time, and it has more features than most folks will ever use. My only complaints are (A) it could use a "mid high" power setting, like 20-25 watts, as it is you are stuck with Lo (5 watts) Mid (10 watts) and Hi (55 watts). (B) The radio gets QUITE HOT on the Hi power setting if you do much transmitting, and I solved this by installing a 4 in. computer case fan on top of the rig, with a small SPST switch mounted on the side, which I turn on if I plan to do any transmitting on Hi power for very long. If you install a fan like I did, orient it so it blows down on the rig for "active" cooling, that works much better than having it "draw" away the warm air from the rig. You will love this radio, a great choice in my opinion.

Mid is 25W. Low/mid is 10.
