Is anyone using this new antenna from DX Engineering yet? Looks nice.

DXE 40M 1/4 Wave (http://www.dxengineering.com/Parts.asp?ID=1023&PLID=177&SecID=87&DeptID=22&PartNo=DXE-40VA-1P)

They are also coming out with a new 80M vertical. In fact, there is one in the container on the way to Peter 1. Can't wait to see pics of this bad boy.

Nice top hat on that thing....I've always been a fan of getting the current up there where it belongs. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I have a homebrew version of this antenna. I refer to it as my "ACE Hardware Vertical." # #It is built from 3 sections of 8 ft aluminum telescoped together and is 23 feet tall. #I made a tophat using #9 aluminum wire and clamped them to the top. #The tophat is 8 spokes and 6 feet in diameter. # #I have 28 radials in a 180 degree pattern since the antenna is on the edge of my property. #I ran 50 feet of RG8 to the shack and use an autotuner. # It is very good on 40 and 30 meters, and average on 20 meters. # #So the DX Engineering vertical should be pretty good, but it is pricey!
