On Wednesday night another tornado struck a Birmingham suburb that received heavy damage in the tornado of July 28th. This time it was relatively minor, a few roofs damaged, trees and fences broken down, but with rebuilding still going on after the earlier tornado, people are starting to get worried!

It seems that you have your own Tornado Alley there. Ours runs up the Great Plains from Texas to Minnesota and the Dakotas. Birmingham may be a bit smaller, but it seems to attract them. Personally, I'd stay out of Caravans and trailer parks during high tornado season. Not too much you can do about them.

Used to be that the further West you went, the less likely you were to encounter a Thunderstorm or Tornado here. Lately there have even been some in California...

And climate change doesn't exist.

Let's think about this for a moment; how many pea-soupers you guys get there in England any more? I think the number is about none. The cold Atlantic water should mitigate the kinds of thunderstorms necessary to spawn tornadoes.

If the oceans warm as "alleged" by scientists, then yes, England is fair game for tornadoes.

Welcome to our hell in the states; buggers are a problem here from March through October.

Sorry to hear about your tornado. I hope no one was injured.

From what I understand about your climate, you all do get "cold air funnels" from time to time.

Tornadoes can happen ANYWHERE in the world and at ANYTIME in the year. We, in Oklahoma, get more or them than any other place in the world. Oklahoma City has been hit 105 times since the early 1900's. In 1974(?) we had one that hit in December of that year near Tulsa. Tornadoes do not necessarily respect geographical location or the calender.

Those who claim that they aren't scared of a tornado have never been in one. Tornados can be life changing expericances. Pretty scary stuff.

I just hope those people got to a safe place and out of harms way.

The tornados were created by the government to get the poor people out of Birmingham. If you ask they'll say they didn't do it but it's just a cover up.
