I tend to become rather hermit like during the winter months.

I have not been on QRZ a lot during the spring and summer because I am usually doing something. I'm back!! I do manage to pick up the mike year round though.

Yeah, I know what you mean about winter. It gets down into the 40's here at night. Much too cold for me.

I like the great lakes area a lot but I could do without the winter. Those lakes make the 2 meter band do cool things sometimes.

I like all seasons. One nice thing about winter is the quiet, usually QRN-free band condx on the lower freqs.

When I was younger i always said"I'd rather sweat than freeze anyday!"
now that I am older I can't take the heat like I used to.
I am looking forward to cooler weather.
I hope to see some more snow this year too.
not for me.for my cats.
after the first snow,I take them to the door(before they have a chance to grasp the situation)and hurl them into the snow.
the initial reaction is the same indifference that is common among felines....
then the bewilderment settles over those cute little mugs...
(as I sit laughing hysterically writing this)
then the precision "B"line to the door trying to get it off their paws as fast as they can!!!

seeing your cats in the snow for the first time of the season:
PRICELESS!!!

I like the saying "there is no such thing as bad weather, there are just different kinds of good weather". After Katrina , not so sure about that tho----

Glanced north this morning. The Sangre de Cristos are now snowcapped. Looked out at the driveway and the Jeep and the truck had solid ice on the windows. Time to hibernate.

I start dreading winter just about June 15th.

I hate winter.....

I don't like snow and cold weather. We've had snow here almost every year for the past ten except a small area around capitol hill. For some reason there seems to be a hot air mass around that area that melts the snow and ice.

Our temperature is reaching into the middle 70's and it getting down in to the lower 40's at night. Warmer than normal for our neck of the woods.

I am ready for winter. It's been a long hot summer and fall here in "Indian Territory".

Pray we have a warm winter. Natural gas prices are going to jump around 50%. More price gouging for the masses here the southern plains. Got to keep those rich CEO's in plenty of money don't cha know.

Good thing i live on the west coast http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

We hardly ever get snow, but october to march is the rain season here and since i have SADS I have to say: I hate winters in the northwest http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

I hate winter! not my favorite time of year. I also can't wait until Spring. It was cold a few days ago here in Colorado. 15 miles west of me it was snowing while it was 34 degrees and raining at my home. That was not fun to be in.

"Winter in Los Angeles" is an oxymoron, a 4-month respite from summer weather. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif #It rains, of course, sometimes heavily [by relative local standards], and there's the occasional overnight frost, but it never snows down here in the valleys except perhaps for a little isolated freak dusting every 80+ years or so. #One can smell spring in the air by about the middle of February.

I've lived here all my life and have never once ever seen snow falling. #I'm absolutely serious. #I don't know of any store anywhere near here where one could buy, say, a snow shovel. #Nobody here needs one. #After a bit of hunting around, one could probably find tire chains at an auto parts store somewhere, but again, nobody needs 'em until they head up toward the mountains - there are a couple of passes in the general area [Cajon Pass on the 15 and "the Grapevine" on the 5] which occasionally get closed on account of snow. #In the middle of an L.A. "winter," one can go outside on a clear, pleasant day and look up at snow-capped mountains.

Christmas Day of 1987 - I remember it because I was stuck working a day shift as a security guard - was well over 90 degrees. #That's the other side of the "freak winter weather" coin. #Then there's the Santa Ana winds, which of course are nothing compared to a good solid Kansas tornado.

I'm with K4KYV - I look forward to quieter condix on the low bands.

When I lived in Germany, they had a saying, "There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing."

I must say, those Germans never let weather interfere with their having fun!!

Winter is GREAT!
I've lived in South Australia, California, and Florida.
I'd hate having the same boring weather year round.
The last really good "regulation" Iowa winter we had around here was 2000/2001. It started snowing the first of December and snowed about every other day for the entire month. We had solid snow cover till March.
