Please help me. I am trying to mod my Kenwood TM-261 but the only mods out there in internet-land is for MARS/CAP. I need to go a bit higher on the freq scale. I am a firefighter and our freqs are in the 154mhz to 158mhz range and the above mod only takes it to about 152mhz. The mod says to cut and insulate one of the two green wires. What would I do instead?

This says it will mod for the frequencies you mention...

Ok if you are listening, but it won't be legal to transmit with that on fire frequencies.
Totally ILLEGAL to use a non type accepted radio for services other then amateur.
