View Full Version : Philosophical Question.
This thread has been started in response to a suggestion by OM KI4DYA that I can no longer carry on an intelligent discussion. Well, hooey balooey. We'll just see about that.
Any of you geniuses ever had Philosophy 101 in school? Well *I* have, bunky. They teach you some REAL heavy duty thinking in THAT class. So ponder the following philosophical question and write your response in the space provided, aaiiight? #Your Philosophical Question Of The Day is:
<span style='font-size:19pt;line-height:100%'>Why?</span>
Good luck.

The only "A" in the class.
When I took philosophy 101, I learned about “The Theory of Design.” Funny how that was in a philosophy class and not a biology class. I must say, we have really advanced as an enlightened society since those dark days.

The answer to Why will always be logical or illogical. Within the context of the individual, logic of the one will not always agree with the logic of the other leading to two perfectly logical explanations, each of which can be illogical in the context of whole.
Two blind men describing an elephant comes to mind.

I like the old joke about the logic class... the prof put a chair on his desk and challenged the class to disprove the existence of the chair.
The only A in the class was received by the student with a two word response on the exam... "What Chair?"

Why? That's an acronym for What have you? Well, I have a puzzled expression on my face - I thought we were in for some really heavy duty thinking, not this kindergarten stuff.
Let's go up a level.
Why why?
Can the wise answer that one?

Some see things as they are and ask "why?"
Others dream of things that never were and ask "why not?"
But most of us have to go to work and don't have time for this s**t.

Another "college level" question:
"If YES = YELLOW, and RED = PIG, what is 32?"
Well, Steve, I was going to point out that "Why" was the first part of a two part question, the second part being "Do you wear tennis shoes? " Of course we all know the answer to that second part !
( anyone remember Professor Irwin Corey ? )
To answer your recently posted question, 32 is the number that comes between 31 and 33. How can you be so STUPID ? ? ?

WHY comes up James, Dave, Jerry for starters. Who do you want.
Question:
If a chicken and a half can lay an egg and a half in a day and a half...... How long would it take a woodpecker with a rubber beak to peck enough wood off a balsa tree to make a lead canoe?
(Hint: Factor in the amount of time it would take a monkey with a wooden leg to kick all the seeds out of a dill pickle.)

WHY NOT?
w2ilp (Inverting Logical Philosophy)
Yep, Why Not is the only logical answer.
Although I have been in a lot of trouble following this in the past.
Any parent is able to tell you that your answer to a child's "WHY ? ? " will always be followed with another question that starts with "WHY ? ? " Now WHY is that ? ? ? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
