Hi all,
Italy has accepted the CEPT recommandation relative to
the CW requirement for an Amateur Radio Licence.
There are no more differences between Ordinary (A) I,
IK, IZ, IS, IT etc, and Special (B) IW licences since
this August 25th.
All A and B Licences are now all A.
From such date all the IW licencees are authorized to
operate on the HF bands. No limits.
New tickets exhams will be done without the CW tests.
IW licencees may change their IW callsign to IZ if
they like.
Please welcome these IWs in our HF bands as many of
them are your people and they represent our Amateur
Radio future.
Please distribute this information to avoid the "You
are a Pirate" Syndrom as we are experiencing
particularly in Italy.
Thanks and 73
Gian
