Dennis Raider, the BTK killer was given 10 life sentences and will have to serve 175 years before being eligible for parole.
# The vitims families all wished him misery while they got their chance to address him in the court room. Mr. Raider got to say his piece and rambled on as he sounded like he was accepting an award or some thing. Then he made the claim that he is a God Fearing Christian. # http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif
# I guess the question is, will he be put in the general population in the prison facility and will his fellow inmates give him a seven course serving of what he did to his dead victims or will he be put in a maxium security cell to protect him from the other inmates?
# I guess the death penalty did not apply by state law due to the time the crimes were committed but, personally, I feel that death is too good for him and would be an easy way out or an escape from the punishment that awaits him in the prison system.
# Those are my thoughts on the matter. Anyone remember what happened to Jeffrey Dommer(sp)?

I'm not in the corrections industry but it's my understanding that 'high profile' inmates are housed seperately for their own protection. (the State has a duty to protect them ya know, at least in Cali.)

Personally I think that the DP and 175 years is too good for him. I what feel SHOULD happen is not fit for print.

And it's Dalmer.

Yes, I don't think there's any way to punish this puke enough for what he's contributed to society. But, oh, would I like to try! The death penalty is MUCH too good for him. Boiling him in oil is MUCH too good for him. He won't last long in prison if he's not in solitary confinement.

I am unhappy with the news coverage of the lurid details of his crimes. I wonder how many sick little wierdos are out there feeding off his sick fantasies.

I've noticed a disturbing trend in the media lately toward much more graphic depiction of these sorts of crimes. I watched an episode of Law & Order CI a few weeks ago where they kept flashing photos of near-naked young women being tortured and strangled. Part of my family watched an episode of Cold Case where the serial killer chased his near-naked female prey through the woods before killing them.

But we're seeing more of the grisly details of these sexual predator murders in the news reports, too. I don't want to imagine what having these details come out in public does to the families of the victims.

I really think we're just breeding more and more of these guys all the time, and I don't know what the answer is. We can't all be cops, and I doubt that our women are going to willingly wear burkhas and stay at home like the muslim women do.

I can't believe the taxpayers of Kansas are going to pay to keep this guy alive any longer.

I'd do what the Chinese government did. Use one bullet, and charge his family for the bullet.

It's actually cheaper to let the prisoners do it....

The reason is because it sells the more graphic the more it sells would you pay money to watch a boy scout helping a old lady cross the street

#
They need to keep him with rest of prisoners so that he can be shown "the finer points of prison living".

He's gonna be REAL popular with the "guys". # http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

This guy will not make it in prison... He'll go from the admitting process straight to protective custody and serve his term until he dies in an isolation cell.

I'm against the grain on this, but I suppose I feel like no matter what someone does, we as a state or people don't bring ourselves to his level and try to "torture" it.

You simply dispose of it in the quickest, most efficient and painless manner.
I don't torture the mosquito that bit me, that's it's nature. just squish it so it doesnt do it again.

And by quickly, meaning with no appeals, assuming all evidence was 100% and he didn't deny it, why allow appeals?
I guess don't even see it as a person at this point from what I have heard.

I would of course feel differently if I was a relative of it's victims. I might go hunting...

Yes, but we seem to have crossed another boundary recently.

Movies are moving in the direction, too. "Sin City" was actually not that bad. It had fairly graphic depictions of sex and depravity, but compared to another one my wife rented the other night, "The Secretary", "Sin City" was the 2005 version of "Boys Town". "The Secretary" would have been rated XXX a couple decades ago, but it's rated R now.

And we wonder why we have human excrement like this guy crawling around?

The full force of the law will come down on you if you take in a DUCK. (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2002442893_duck17m.html)

You can e-mail depraved, perverse pornographic images and stories to thousands of kids, but just don't help an at-risk duck!

You just have to sometimes wonder about the priorities of the world... ~sigh~
