Oh common YS, Bin Laden was known to be a threat when Reagan was in office must of slipped thru his and GHWB's hands too, but we know for sure he ain't caught yet, been almost 4 years now eh, President Bush had more important things to do, like invade Iraq.

BTW Bill isn't singing, these are a slection of his favorite tunes and artists.

OBL was not a threat while Reagan was in office. #Guys like Gadaffi and the like were the terrorists attacking our interests in the 80's. Remember what Ron did to them? #BOOM!

Osama was actually on our side at the time. #We trained him, remember?

OBL did not start aiming for the west until the first gulf war. #He saw our presence in Saudi Arabia as a desecration of Muslim holy lands. Guess you can thank Saddam's invasion of Kuwait and the resulting war for that.

It was under the Clinton watch that the first WTC bombing, the bombing of our embassies in western Africa, the attack on the USS Cole, and a couple other items that escape my memory occured. #The Saudis even offered to hand him over to us at one point and the Clinton administration said no thanks. Guess they were too busy attacking kids in Waco or covering up some sex scandal at the time. International relations were never Clinton's strongest area of leadership.

America had plenty of warning about OBL and a couple chances to take him out before Sept 11.

Take the Ronald Reagan approach to terrorism and perhaps things would be different. #Let them know that for every attack on our interests, we will return the favor tenfold.

Will make them think twice before attacking again.

I'm not disputing what you say, (Bin Laden a threat) was brought out during the Iran-Contra hearing.

How come conservatives can't ever take responsibility for their failings. Alwayd trying to blame someone else for their failings.

Clinton came a lot closer to getting Osama than Bush ever has. Clinton tried to kill Osama on August 20, 1998
Tomahawks fired at Osama (http://www.anusha.com/osamasur.htm)

So don't tell me Bush didn't know about Osama. He took absolutely NO action in the almost 2 years he was in office befor 9-11! The Clinton administration and Richard Clarke specifically tried to warn this idiot administration about Al Queida but the Bush administration was just too arrogant to listen. Looked who he hired as our main official- Condi Rice a Russian expert - just brilliant.

I voted for Clinton both elections. Musical talent?? I don't have musical talent but I can play some good Classic Rock CDs. BTW more women in America tried smoking a Cigar after Little Miss Monica adventure in the White House. I apreciaed the fact that he worked with the American Public. Do you see Bush hanging out at McDonalds?
Yes Clinton had his little vices but at least he came clean to save his Family.
Bush on the other hand was not going to give out any personal bios until his pretty little wife started to talk about the adventures of being married to the Bush Clan.

Quote[/b] (k9kxq @ Aug. 18 2005,19:41)](Bin Laden a threat) was brought out during the Iran-Contra hearing.
Do you have a cite for that?

From Here: (http://www.snopes.com/rumors/north.htm)

Quote[/b] ]The terrorist North mentioned in his testimony was not Osama bin Laden, however. To the extent that bin Laden was known to the western world in 1987, it was not as a "terrorist" but as one of the U.S.-backed "freedom fighters" participating in the war against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Osama bin Laden's hatred of the U.S. and conversion to "terrorist" status is not believed to have come about until the Gulf War of 1990-91, when he was outspokenly critical of Saudi Arabian dependence upon the U.S. military and denounced U.S. support of a "corrupt, materialist, and irreligious" Saudi monarchy. (The Saudi Arabian government stripped bin Laden of his citizenship in 1994 for his funding of militant fundamentalist Islamic groups.)

No, Oliver North did not testify about or speak the name Osama bin Laden during the Iran-Contra hearings. He claimed that threats against his life had been made by terrorist Abu Nidal...

(bold added by me)

Nothing more than an urban legend that Oliver North warned us about Bin Laden during Iran-Contra.

Sorry for the hijack. Carry on.

Bill Clinton would go jogging and end up outside of MacDonald’s.

This action boosted his image in the hearts of many Americans as a “regular” guy. #Just imagine the average Joe thinking “Hey, Bill Clinton eats MacDonald’s and I do too, we have a lot in common!"

Do we really want a president that eats MacDonald’s fare and then gets a quadruple bi-pass surgery?

Personally, I do not want just a regular guy as our President. #I would rather have him #be educated, health conscious, sensitive and strong. #Shouldn’t our leader represent the best possible American and not the worst of Americans?

Sigh - OK, here we go again
Snopes. #Oliver Twisted (http://www.snopes.com/rumors/north.htm)
Quote[/b] ]One of the charges against North was that he had received a $16,000 home security system paid for out of the proceeds of the Iran-Contra affair and had forged documents to cover his receipt of an illegal gratuity. North admitted that he knew the security system was a "gift" but maintained he never inquired about who had paid for it or how it was financed, and he was insistent that he needed the security system because the government had failed to provide adequate protection against international terrorists for him and his family.

The terrorist North mentioned in his testimony was not Osama bin Laden, however. To the extent that bin Laden was known to the western world in 1987, it was not as a "terrorist" but as one of the U.S.-backed "freedom fighters" participating in the war against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. (The Saudi Arabian government stripped bin Laden of his citizenship in 1994 for his funding of militant fundamentalist Islamic groups.)

No, Oliver North did not testify about or speak the name Osama bin Laden during the Iran-Contra hearings. He claimed that threats against his life had been made by terrorist Abu Nidal, telling a congressional committee:

I want you to know that I'd be more than willing . . . to meet Abu Nidal on equal terms anywhere in the world. There's an even deal for him. OK? But I am not willing to have my wife and my four children meet Abu Nidal or his organization on his terms.

So no, Oliver North didn't warn us back in 1987 about Osama bin Laden's "potential threat to the security of the world" or suggest that bin Laden be hunted down by "an assassin team," nor was he given the brush-off by a clueless senator "who disagreed with this approach." #Eventually, Col. North drafted his own response to this piece of misinformation:Quote[/b] ]FROM THE DESK OF LTCOL OLIVER L. NORTH (USMC) RET.

OVER THE COURSE OF THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS, I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL THOUSAND E-MAILS FROM EVERY STATE IN THE U.S. AND 13 FOREIGN COUNTRIES IN WHICH THE ORIGINATOR PURPORTS TO HAVE RECENTLY VIEWED A VIDEOTAPE OF MY SWORN TESTIMONY BEFORE A CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEE IN 1987.

A COPY OF ONE OF THOSE E-MAILS IS ATTACHED BELOW. AS YOU WILL NOTE, THE ORIGINATOR ATTRIBUTES TO ME CERTAIN STATEMENTS REGARDING USAMA BIN LADEN AND OTHER MATTERS THAT ARE SIMPLY INACCURATE. THOUGH I WOULD LIKE TO CLAIM THE GIFT OF PROPHESY, I DON'T HAVE IT.

I DON'T KNOW WHO SAW WHAT VIDEO "AT UNC." (OR ANYWHERE ELSE) BUT, FOR THE RECORD, HERE'S WHAT I DO KNOW:

1. IT WAS THE COMMITTEE COUNSEL, JOHN NIELDS, NOT A SENATOR WHO WAS DOING THE QUESTIONING.

2. THE SECURITY SYSTEM, INSTALLED AT MY HOME, JUST BEFORE I MADE A VERY SECRET TRIP TO TEHRAN, COST, ACCORDING TO THE COMMITTEE, $16K, NOT $60K.

3. THE TERRORIST WHO THREATENED TO KILL ME IN 1986, JUST BEFORE THAT SECRET TRIP TO TEHRAN, WAS NOT USAMA BIN LADEN, IT WAS ABU NIDAL (WHO WORKS FOR THE LIBYANS — NOT THE TALIBAN AND NOT IN AFGHANISTAN).

4. I NEVER SAID I WAS AFRAID OF ANYBODY. I DID SAY THAT I WOULD BE GLAD TO MEET ABU NIDAL ON EQUAL TERMS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD BUT THAT I WAS UNWILLING TO HAVE HIM OR HIS OPERATIVES MEET MY WIFE AND CHILDREN ON HIS TERMS.

5. I DID SAY THAT THE TERRORISTS INTERCEPTED BY THE FBI ON THE WAY TO MY HOUSE IN FEB. 87 TO KILL MY WIFE, CHILDREN AND ME WERE LIBYANS, DISPATCHED FROM THE PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE FOR LIBYAN STUDENTS IN MCLEAN, VIRGINIA.

6. AND I DID SAY THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAD MOVED MY FAMILY OUT OF OUR HOME TO A MILITARY BASE (CAMP LEJEUNE, NC) UNTIL THEY COULD DISPATCH MORE THAN 30 AGENTS TO PROTECT MY FAMILY FROM THOSE TERRORISTS (BECAUSE A LIBERAL FEDERAL JUDGE HAD ALLOWED THE LYBIAN ASSASSINS TO POST BOND AND THEY FLED).

7. AND, FYI: THOSE FEDERAL AGENTS REMAINED AT OUR HOME UNTIL I RETIRED FROM THE MARINES AND WAS NO LONGER A "GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL." BY THEN, THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT HAD SPENT MORE THAN $2M PROTECTING THE NORTH FAMILY. THE TERRORISTS SENT TO KILL US WERE NEVER RE-APPREHENDED.

Yes I want a regular guy or gal. The Kennedys and the Bush family have done plenty good and bad for our nation. Bill Clinton was the average everyday person.

You don't need royalty to be a world leader. Is it ok for Prince Charles to sleep with Camillia before he married Diana? Ok .............hold on you are probably thinking about the Monica story, hit the brakes, that was a short affair that could have ruined the marriage between him and his wife. I am sure today there is a trust issue between Hillary and Bill, nevertheless they have sold the american public that everything in their marriage is fine. Do you honestly think that Hillary could have become a state senator without Bill's help?

6ADA I said "Personally, I do not want just a regular guy as our President. #I would rather have him #be educated, health conscious, sensitive and strong."

Educated: #Degree (non-Liberal Arts) from Ivy League or major university instead of a being a graduate of the SASE 2 day front end alignment course.

Health conscious: #Jogs and works out every day instead of clogging the arteries with Big Macs. #(Exercise increases your mental faculties, clogged arteries reduce the amount of blood your brain receives. #

Sensitive: #Really feels the nations pain instead of having a phony lip-biting facade.

Strong: #Can stand up to adversity and criticism and still get the job done instead of being wishy washy and catering to the latest poll results.
