How do you vote?
Strictly a party line kind of voter or do you wander across the line?

Independent all the way! I vote for Rep or Dem ONLY if that is the only choice in a particular campaign, unless I know of a write-in candidate.

The only problem with that is the lesser of two evils is still evil.

Does the term "yellow dog" mean anything to you?

Not only evil but note that the term "lesser" comes into play.
Sad but true.

I have yet to vote, but I will in 2008. Here is an interesting conversation I had on IRC. I am Maestro, cork_for_wine was a girl I know.
<cork_for_wine> are you republican?
<Maestro> Hell no.
<cork_for_wine> good
<Maestro> I am an independent liberal.
<cork_for_wine> green party?
<Maestro> Green Party is a party. Independent means that you are not affilated with any parties.
<cork_for_wine> okay... oh i didn't catch when you said that, forgot to read it
<Maestro> Perhaps I will vote Reform Party though.
<Maestro> Or I will write in Mickey Mouse.
<cork_for_wine> hmmm, okay...
<Maestro> Maybe if I am feeling froggy I will vote for the Socialist Party of California
<Maestro> Or The New Party.

<Maestro> Though I may just stick with writing in Donald Duck.

But Donald Duck doesn't get the vote in any general election unless he is a "declared" write-in candidate.

When I am of age, I am going to see about becoming an offical write-in http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif I won't vote for myself, but I could tell people to vote for me. Just to say I ran for president.

ummm... I hate to break this to you, but there is a political party that already includes those types. Just look for the donkey symbol on the ballot.
You are young and this, too, will pass.

Welcome. I'm glad to see you are now in the QRZ data base and I have read your bio there.
I started with crystal sets, TRFs and home built superhets just like you did, so I now feel we have a lot in common.
I believe that you vote in British elections. I serve as an election inspector in my home district in Commack, NY so I am familiar with voting procedures here. We use very reliable mechanical voting machines here. What sort of voting methods are used in England ?
Do you think that Tony Blair could get reelected now? To me it is a miricle that GW Bush and Blair got reelected the last time.
Do you think it is about time that the British voted for a functional Royal Family to replace the present soap opera series cast?

I vote secretly. How I vote is nobody's business but mine. Esp if the person asking is a telephone 'survey' person.

I used to vote for either demo or rep. Then we had a thing called 695 wich was the 30 dollar licenses tab deal. All of the liberal demos in Washington started to cry and whine saying that if 695 pass Washington State would fall apart and it would be the end ( the sky is falling crap)
After that I said no-more liberal demos in office so now I vote rep.

If more people voted Libertarian instead of for the "lesser of two evils"-- (As already pointed out- is still evil) You would see major changes in this country.

The platform of the Libertarian National Party:
http://www.lp.org/issues/platform_all.shtml
Some of it seemed a little radical to me a few years ago....
The older I get and the more I see going on, The less "radical" it seems and the more it is needed NOW!

Back in 1990, when budget shortfalls forced George Bush père to break his "no new taxes" campaign pledge, humorists had a field day parsing Bush's original promise. "Well, he didn't rule out raising old taxes," said some. More creatively, others called the whole thing a misunderstanding: In truth, Bush had merely promised "No nude taxes."

I grew up listening to liberal democrat parents so when i got into high school I did some of my own invetigative work regarding politics and the different parties.
Though I found that all parties have many similar characteristics (such as tax & spend, etc,) I realized that the conservative parties were the ones with the most common sense approach regarding everyday life issues.
Since then I have learned never ever ever to vote for a socialist candidate in any party.
They are all blood sucking commies.
IMHO of course.
