He did four Bond films -- not bad.
Any guesses who the next Bond will be?

To fit with the times and political correctness they will probably ask Will Smith.
Sacrilege,it would be.

Think Will would make a pretty interesting Bond... especially if they give him a scene like where he was fussing at that alien he was dragging across the desert in Independence Day...

I think Jude Law would be good.

Brosnan was just quoted on a network radio news segment saying that he is glad he is out of the role.
Says he was tired of the cheap one liners.
It didn't sound like his heart was in it.

Will Smith, though a significant departure in continuity, would be an excellent Bond. #He's the right balance of action and humor, and I'm convinced he could create his own credibility in the role. #Give him his due. #He is one of the best in his craft. # I don't think anyone would have a problem with him after the first film.

Did you see him in Wild Wild West?
I like him in most roles but that was sad.

Course, if they wanted to go off the deep end....Jim Carrey. From Ace Ventura to Bond.....yipes.
Will Smith wouldn't be bad. I liked him in "I, Robot" also. He'll probably always be remembered for ID, though.

How about a female Bond? Any ideas?

Wild West was the exception. I saw it for free, and I wanted my money back! That was among the poorest of TV show resurrections.
I felt the same way about Mission Impossible, but for other reasons. It is fundamentally impossible for the iconic heroism of Jim Phelps to turn sour simply because "the cold war was over and I needed money--" to summarize. Whoever wrote that script completely missed the essence of the original series. And for his role in the production credits, I have not seen a Tom Cruise movie since. [Okay, I know I'm a REAL freak.]
True, the same thing could be said about James Bond. But look at how long Bond has been around as a character without aging. If he can pass through the years ever youthful, he can as easily become black as a side effect of the juvenation juice.
It's only movies, let Will do it!

It would help if Smith had more than one character he could play.
Whoever they cast had better be authentically British.

If you look at the age factor I would vote for Will Smith. If you want to get off the beaten path, Liam Nessom, he just needs to cut his hair. Another candidate would be Antonio Banderas. The problem is finding the actor who will agree to take over the project. If you want to get real crazy go after Adam Sandler (just kidding)! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Too bad Benny Hill is not around. He had the sex scenes down for sure and he would have been the first funny Bond.

Whoa, whoa, there a minute , don't you Americans realize that James Bond is quintessentially British.
Is nothing sacred to you people?
An American James Bond? my AR$$.

I nominate Elizabeth Hurley. Although the G-land ops probably have seen more British women (page 6?) and would have a better person to come up with.

Brosnan's successor has to be classy, daring if not a little reckless, and definitely Anglo-British. Sorry if this sounds "politically incorrect," but I believe this is what Ian Fleming envisioned, and it's certainly what we American "007" fans have come to expect. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

So should we keep Snoop dawg out of the mix just because he isn't Anglo Britt?
How can we refuse to consider him because he doesn't fit into an ethnic stereotype?
Prehaps he, or maybe Ice Cube, could do a better job as James Bond.
Are we refusing to even give them a chance?

To follow your lead, maybe James Earl Jones. Or better yet, Morgan Freeman. Morgan Fairchild can be Moneypenny. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif (They'd make a great couple!)
Will Smith would be the overwhelming best choice along this line.
Or, for something completely different, how about that suave, debonaire, urbane actor of note, Tom Arnold? #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif And Roseanne Barr for Moneypenny. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif IT COULD HAPPEN!

I agree and don't give a flying rats a** about political correctness.
It is the downfall of American culture as we have know it.
We need a Limey to portray Bond.

I have to agree, unfortunately for Will, the new James Bond should be British--lest we do to the series what Cruise and Co. did to Mission Impossible. #Niessen is a good choice. How about Colm Meany or Bill Conolloy. #The British subject most likely to get the role----------------------------------------------
Ewan McGregor. # http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
Maybe Will could play a resurrected version of Flint, or Matt Helm. I can't help it. I enjoy his movies and I would like to see him in a Bond like series.
My only problem with Ice Cube playing Bond is that he didn't get the job done in the second XXX film. I could see Vin Diesel though.

I really liked Roger Moore as James Bond. Of course I really liked him in the British TV series ‘The Saint’ as well. I wish he were younger so he could keep the job.
I always wondered why Sean Connery {sp?} got the job. He was never my favorite.
Roger Moore is my favorite Bond.

I guess really, it doesn’t matter all that much who plays the Bond character anymore. Q is gone.
He was what held the whole series together for me.
