I am Curious. Why is it if some of us post a fact or facts. that others will speak up and say" hey post a Link to back up your Posts or your facts!".
Yet there are others that just post whatever is on their mind and when called on it, they say" oh hey I just guessed at it, but you better not suggest that I was wrong! After all, I don't have to prove anything I say. You just look it up for yourselves. I don't OWE you anything, But thanks for the Intelligent conversation!"
I have discovered that it is some from the "Right field" that are guilty of this ploy. ( perhaps the left also, although I can't think of any) They speak of Aiding and Abetting the Enemy, 3 to 1 Democrats to Republicans ratio, yet when called upon to prove themselves, they say " Oh I just , Guessed at it But If you want to dispute me, then Prove it with some links."
They speak Of "Bush never Lies" yet when presented with the facts, they play Stupid... perhaps they really are stupid!
I want to know, Why is that? Why are some so ignorant that they think no one sees through their ploys??
Why the Double standards???

It isn't just "right field" that throws these particular stones. We get them from right and left, meek and bold, young and old. Prove it? Nah; I'll pass.
It is sometimes useful to cite a fact or an authority. Other times, hey, we're throwing cow patties here; who needs proof? "A man convinced against his will, is of teh same opinion still," says Ben F. If we need proof, it won't work. Not here!

I've shut a few of them up... on both sides...
If ya do your homework, and ya present the facts after evaluating what you are reading, they can't do anything but shut up and go away...
Their propoganda (from either side) doesn't work against the facts. BUT... be aware that quoting news articles doesn't work... They are all slanted one way or another, so ya have to go to the source and use their own words against or for them as the case may be...
The trick is to be honest in your evaluation... don't try to prove your opinion is right... try to find the TRUTH... look beneath all the weasel words and try to find the real meanings of things...
The other thing to do is keep YOUR trap shut until ya KNOW what the facts are... you might notice that I have not had anything to say about the Rove situation... I THINK I know what happened but I don't really know the facts yet... Too many liars in the mix without any way of sorting them out... BUT... when I do, stand by... fur will fly...

Well, we got Ds and we got Rs and we got what the media calls 'swing voters' and I honestly don't know the numbers... I guess we'll have to take a pass on this one... but I still stand by my statements about the polls... they ARE a randomized cross section of the population when done by a reputable firm.
If you had said it was a 60/40 split one way or the other between Ds and Rs, I might have bought into it... but 75/25 is WAY too lopsided to represent the present population in my opinion... My bet is that it is like 45/45/10 between Ds, Rs and independents... and even that might be shorting the independents a bit...
ah, well, one day I'll run into the numbers and we can settle it then, and I'll be the first to admit it if I'm wrong... and I'll give you the same priviledge... that is to admitting you're wrong, if in fact you are...
Until then we'll just have to find something else to banter about...
and I'm sure we will...

I ask for validation and it is for the following reason.
A few folks on here have made statements and when I reply to their post, either refuting their claims or at least telling a different version of the same event they immediately come back with "Oh where did you get that? #CNN? or Fox? or etc.
So if my remarks are going to be questioned then I believe that it is only fair to ask the original poster and those that follow to also validate their claims. #
Besides, it cuts way back on the BS factor.

I find the opposite true. I find that stories from the right are often linked to Blogs. Blogs often pass opinion as news and when they cite a source it is always another blog, or unsubstantiated source.
If they want to be taken seriously as a news source they have to do better than that. Maybe they should have the same standards as the press. The mainstream press has to show their sources under penalty of jail time. That's credibility.

You are correct to some extent. Some of the links seem to come from Blogs, ( mostly from the Right) Some are linked to actual News stories ( both the lefts and rights) and then there are some that are Admittedly just " Made up" out of thin air under the pretext of "Educated Guess". (The fools) ( Neither side wants to claim them!)
I must counter that an " Educated " wouldn't be guessing, but put up the actual, verifiable facts!.
I am learning to read the lines and verify or debunk it on my own.

I doubt uey has seen the light. Besides Gordon's posts have uey's posts quoted for all to see.
I'm betting he will be back in his nasty old form before long.
I wonder if qrz actually likes having uey around to boost their numbers as people check in daily to look at what foolishness he is up to.
