There were four small explosions in London today. Three on the underground and one on a bus. I've only heard about one casualty - see below.

From early news it seems that the explosions were not bombs but detonators. There is speculation as to wether bombs did not 'go off' or all they had were detonators.

The casualty would appear to be one of those involved. Rumour has it that the device went off in his back-pack while he was wearing it. Early reports are that he was arrested at a hospital.

Sounds like amateur copycats to me. Police said the emergency was not as serious as 2 weeks ago as it became clear that the attacks had either failed altogether or lacked the lethal sophistication of the July 7 bombs. Some devices appeared not to have gone off properly and only one person has so far been reported injured. I'm waiting for more details on the story before I get my knickers in a twist.

It's really strange when terrorism takes a back seat to code/no code.

When I heard it on the news this morning they said the bombs were about as loud as the popping of a champagne cork.

This does look like copycats.

FAP

And I heard that the driver of the bus, ( on hearing the 'explosion' ) thought that a car had bumped him.

I agree. I thought it odd that fellow QRZers only clicked on this thread 30something times in 4 hours.

I think that tells us a great deal about the interests of QRZers.

I am now biting my tongue.
