Ms. EGF
Have you tried contacting the editor@qrz.com? Fred and his crew can help you out.
You might try posting in a different color. Pink is a nice color for women, but it's hard for older eyes like mine to read.
I hope you get this problem sorted out.
Me? I won't post a picture of myself. I have to sneak up on a glass of water just to get a drink. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Welcome to qrz, British neighbor.

Thank god! I thought it was just me! I keep getting told that my details are not in the database and the database won't let me do anything about it.
Well as I said in another thread, it's QRZ's problem, they can fix it!!
Nice to have another "Brit" around to help hold our end up in the arguments - they are a really great bunch here except when they start ranting about American politics and code/no code (YAWN!)

I know that the subject matter gets tiresome to Her Majesty's Royal Subjects, but you have to understand that this is "Rag Chew Central" where NOTHING is "out of bounds" on this part of qrz. Politics is a big thing because we are so polorized as a country. I also don't care for the code debates. We also post a lot of nonsense, but we have a lot fun doing it. And that, I think, it's what this site is all about.
As you know, there are other parts of qrz such as "Questions and Answers", "Talk and Opinions", for the Amateur Radio Subjects. There's also a place where you buy, sell, and trade non-amateur stuff. Fred Lloyd, the founder of qrz, a.k.a. "Fearless Leader", has been doing pretty good job of making his site more useful for everyone. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
So relax, enjoy, and NEVER take anything you may read here too seriously. Remember that it's all "mind over matter"- if you don't mind, it don't matter. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

To those hams who can not find their call signs in the QRZ data base: #I would suggest that you take up the matter with the UK government or the RSGB.
I am assuming thayt the QRZ data base is formed from official government listings of all licensed radio amateurs. #In the USA the data comes from our Federal Communications Commision. #I have never seen any difference between FCC data and QRZ data but I am not certain that all official data bases are updated as accurately. # I have however found proper information for British hams that I have heard or worked on the air.
My advice: #If you are not currently licensed do not use call letters here. #Sign on as a guest.

Amateur radio licensing in the U.K. is handled on behalf of the government by Ofcom. It's nothing to do with the R.S.G.B.
Equally, the details shown on Qrz.com are nothing to do with Ofcom and they wouldn't be interested in the call information shown here. If a U.K. amateur is listed here it's because they chose to enter their own details.
N.B. On a couple of occasions I have heard U.S. amateurs accuse a U.K. person of being unlicensed because their call is not listed on Qrz.com - it doesn't have to be.

If you want the web site owners to assist you perhaps a little courtesy might help. On the other hand, if you really think the data-base is so stupid perhaps you should write your own http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

As much as I appreciate and adore QRZ, it is NOT the FCC...any more than the ARRL is! The only LEGIT source for license information is the entity ISSUING that license. As soon as ARRL or QRZ start issuing call signs, this will change.

Oh, I know that. I have heard others say that though.
I know the issuing authority is the place you should honestly check. There are a lot of people who rely on QRZ for this now though-if it ever went down, even for a few hours, I think there would be a general panic http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hey, another Brit poster, before long we'll have a Brit soccer team, and maybe get invited to California to play in a competition.
All expenses payed of course.

Actually, there have been a few times when I have worked some DX and I try to look their call up here on QRZ and there is Nothing there. Says the Cal XXXXX is Not in our Database. Then I go to Ham Call, type in the same Call and there is the info I need. QRZ is ALWAYS my first choice, but I have wondered why some calls are not here. I can't even tell you how many times Ii have heard, "if you want to QSL, I'm good in QRZ.COM"
Thanks Fred and gang!

We have one guy around here who won't even consider anyone #a "real ham" unless they are on the qrz database.
eham has a "lookup" also. And guess who's lookup they use? Yep, qrz's database.
Fred, I think you may be onto something here. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I don't know where QRZ gets its data for the database, but I am listed in both the RSGB callbook and the Practical Wireless magazines regular call CD. When I tried to do something about adding my details the QRZ database wouldn't let me add anything because I wasn't in the database! Anyone remember Catch-22?
I earned my license fair and square and am proud of it. It is in effect part of my identity, I AM G8ADD, and the fact that because of a piffling little defect in a database in another country my bona fides can be questioned p****s me off more than a little! I offered to send a copy of my license so that QRZ could add me to the database but this was ignored. So, as I say, it's now QRZ's problem, I've washed my hands of it. Anyway I am off to the high hills for a week tonight, so it will be interesting the Monday after next to look back and see how this discussion went!
As I see it the Database is a terrific service, it just needs the occasional bug hunt!
And ILP, you have gently implied that I am not kosher a couple of times, now, so when I get back I am going to scan my license and send you a copy so that we can derive an unclouded friendly enjoyment from our discussions!

That's very good of you, Becky, thanks very much. I look forward to working you sometime - I will be staying on Shell Island (IO72WT) next week and expect to do a few SOTA activations as well as being active from the "island" occasionally on 2m, 6m, 40m and 60m, though I know you won't be able to work me on that last band I will listen for your call on the others.

If you have trouble reading pink or light-blue text, try highlighting the text. It becomes very legible then.

You could always have your game at the Houston Astrodome (or Reliant Astrodome, as they call it now). It's not currently being used.
Paul, N0JAA.
There is a forum here called "DX Helpers" that is specifically for getting DX calls into the database. Just post there and you'll be helped.
