I saw the quasi-political figure and candidate for the Gov. of Texas, Kinky Freedman on a television appearance. He had a good proposal for closing our borders shut with a bang. He calls it his Four Mexican Generals Plan. The idea is this: You give four generals a stretch of the border that they are responsible for. One guy gets the California stretch, one the Arizona stretch, one New Mexico/Texas, and another the rest of the Texas Border. You then set up four banks accounts in their respective names. In each account you deposit 10 million dollars. Every time we catch an illegal on our side of the border, we deduct 10,000 dollars. At the end of a year the generals get to withdraw the balances left in their banks. Something tells me he might have something here. What do ya think?

I saw this posted awhile back.

But it's STILL a damn good idea!

Sounds like a good friends plan on how to get good service at the resturaunt...

Place 30 $1.00 bills on the table when you sit down, everytime you look for the waitress, pull back a dollar, every time your glass is empty, pull back a dollar... the waitress gets whats left when dinner is finished.

I think it would work better if you didn't use money. Just tell the Mexican governors you would shoot a member of their family each time someone from their state successfully crossed the border illegally. When he runs out of family, he is shot. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

DFP:

Kinky is wrong in one area. There are actually 5 Mexican states that border the United States, not 4. One state, Nuevo Leon, has about a 20 mile wide stretch that comes up to the Rio Grande/Rio Bravo several miles northwest of Laredo, Texas. The other 4 Mexican states have borders that are much longer.

Other than the fact that Mr. Friedman doesn't have a "snowball's chance" of being elected, he does have some refreshing ideas.

The present Comptroller of Public Accounts, Carole Keeton Strayhorn (a.k.a. "one tough grandma") has already announced that she will be running against Rick Perry, the present Governor of Texas, in the Republican primary elections next year. Strayhorn got considerably more votes the last time around than any other candidate in the General Election. Frankly, her popularity with both of the major political party members, plus the minority communities, puts her in a very good position to defeat Perry in the primary.
