Get on it fellas.
I just worked TN, AL, and OH (EM55, EM63, EM79) and copying stations in 9 land. All from my rinky-dink homemade rotatable dipole.
EDIT: Add FL (EM80) to the list!
...and KY (EM78)!
...sorry, just having too much fun here! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Dang! Looks like I missed it (or it missed this part of the country).
6 has been awfully dead here the last few weeks -- last "DX" I have in the log was from 6/29 and didn't hear anything but locals during the CQ VHF contest over the weekend (pretty sure sign it's really dead).
What about it, you 6 meter old-timers... Is this about the time of year to cash it in and head back to the low bands? And what of the ARRL September VHF party? I might be able to do a Wyoming rover deal for that one this year, but is there any point?
Sure had a lot of fun on 6 this season -- worked 32 states (confirmed 31) and 3 countries (pretty obvious which ones).

6 meters the MAJIC BAND, #I been on this band for years and it will come up with something to supprise me. #This year was working the 5T5 in AF!! #Don't give up with your dipole you can work a lot with a dipole when the band open and when it close I don't care how many antennas you have or how much power #you run it still going to be dead. #73 have fun, Bill WA0KBZ

Wow ... maybe it will be open again this weekend, will be stringing a dipole this Saturday and hope to give all the bands a try ...
BTW: where was your Alabama contact? Just curious.

Let us know of any openings!
I've got my sights set on being in Wyoming the weekend of the September VHF QSO party. Grid DN64 from the looks of it. Or over to DN83 in SD.
I just can't imagine there will be any real openings that time of year given the current sunspot cycle. I'll work it if it's there, but am planning on bringing a book to read. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
Things here in DM79 have been deader than Alabama road kill lately.

KF0RT, that's pretty dead http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
N3ATS - thanks. He's one county north. That makes four hams (that I know of) in Fayette County. Haven't heard him on the local repeaters though, but he's close enough to hit them.
He looks familiar though ... probably saw him at Field Day. There were some folks from Fayette talking with our Skywarn guy about getting a weather net started up their way.
