Well I saw a little baseball history made last night 6/19/05. #

In AA league play

The Jacksonville (FL) Suns played the Montgomery (AL) Biscuits (yep, the Biscuits)

Final: # Biscuits 20, Jax 2 #which is the worst beating that the Suns have taken in their entire team history. #

More to the point.

3rd inning, Biscuits have the bases loaded and the batter hits the ball over the right field wall for a Grand Slam Home Run.

Still 3rd, Biscuits still at bat, one out - bases loaded.

Batter puts down sacrifice bunt. #3B fields the ball and throws it high to home plate. All runners safe. #Bases still loaded. #

Next batter uncorks another hit over the fence for another Grand Slam HR.

The local radio sports guys are saying that is the only the 6th time in profession baseball history (Majors or Minors) that 2 Grand Slams have occured in one inning.

Are they right sportsfans?

Here's the story in the local rag SUNS REPORT (http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/062005/sps_19038850.shtml)

But hey, me and my boy went to the game and even though the home team lost we had a good fathers day outing. #The weather was perfect and the beer was cold. #And folks, it just doesn't get any better than that.

Either of those teams could kick the butts of the Bumtimore Borioles, who make it a regular practice to lose to dogmeat teams.

11-2 arse whupping at the hands of the Blue Jays and "Cy" Lilly.

I rest my case.

didn't the Pirates take 2 out of three from the O's? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Yup... So did the Cards. I'll bet the '27 Yankees didn't lose to all the CRAP teams.... Argh.

Yanks were losing 10-2 last night. They've done more than their share of losing to zombie teams this year... Got 13 runs in the 8th to win 20-11. Not exactly two Grand Slams in an inning but a win is a win. Mets come into the stadium this weekend... nice timing. To bad it isn't the BoSux.

Bombers transform an eight-run deficit into a nine-run win (http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/gameday_recap.jsp?ymd=20050621&content_id=1098716&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=nyy)

Three elderly ladies are excited about seeing their first Orioles baseball game. They smuggle a bottle of Jack Daniel's into the ballpark. The game is real exciting and they are enjoying themselves immensely mixing the Jack Daniel's with soft drinks. Soon they realize that the bottle is almost gone and the game has a lot of innings to go.

Based on the given information, what inning is it and how many players are on base?

Give up?

Judging from the lack of cheering and enthusiasm at Oriole games, I would have thought the whole PARK was full of old ladies. Haw.... (Actually, it's a bunch of Yuppie Schmucks on cell phones, reading the Wall Street Journal.)

The Stinkees have royally sucked this year, so far. Everybody keeps waiting for them to wake up and come back, but I'm not convinced they will. Keep the sharp objects away from King George!!

SY - well, there are at least TWO teams we won't see in the after-season, the Reds and the Orioles

Unless it's 1970 again, I fully agree.

Just ignore N7CPC's narcolepsy over this topic. Seattle is STILL waiting to get its first Major League team. Haw haw...
