Is corrosion hesitancy another word for propagation delay? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Think that is the kind that sends out LDEs (Long Delayed Echos).

Yes but the signal it sends is corroded...sounds like backscatter or aurora

Could mean he's hesitant to mention the high corrosion factor.. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

I'm confused. Don't you only have to use materials like that on 75 meters?

Hi all,
Uh huh, but this is what really gets me.
"Use your dual band HT for Satellite contacts."
Oh really? I didn't know the CB satellite Uncle Charlie heard in '68 relaying messages from China was still active.
Then maybe that Sandiscone is some sort of attatchment for an electric drill. Just goes to show that when Mexico shut down the goat gland salesman's radio station he turned to eBay.

What junk! Aluminum is not corrosion "hesitant" or resistant either. It has a thing, transparent layer of corrosion that makes it resistant to other types of corrosion. And, aluminum practically vaporises when mercury is on it.

any three minuets or does it have to be specific ones and/or in any specific order? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

You must be thinking of galvanized steel which applies a layer of zinc. Aluminum DOES have natural corrosion resisitance. I've been in the stainless and aluminum distribution business for 32 years. There is no coating on aluminum whatsoever. They lightly oil it for shipping purposes. Aluminum placed upon itself in sheet or coil form will oxidize and cause a white rust. Aluminum sitting by itself attached to no other kind of metal will last longer than a lifetime assuming it is not in an abnormal corrosive environment.

I don't know, but when I was playing around with casting aluminum a few years ago, it was quite interesting. You could scrape all the oxidation off a sand-cast piece of aluminum, and an hour later a new coat of oxidation would form. A little wierd.

It depends on the casting method used. #Sand casting, die casting, mold casting, evaporative casting etc. #When you cast a product you automatically leave air pockets in the metal. #Air trapped in any metal is not good. #If you take a skid of 4 x 10 sheets there is air trapped in between each sheet. #Should the temperature around the metal (like in Texas) warm up after a cold front the metal will actually sweat. #It produces condensation and mixes with the trapped air that is between the sheets and corrosion is the result. #If you just take one sheet of metal 4 x 10' and poor water on it, and leave it outside in varying temperatures, it WILL NOT CORRODE IN 50 YEARS OR MORE.
There are many cast aluminum engines out there now. #Have you ever seen a rusty or corroded one? #I haven't. #The only way it will get corroded is if certain metals keep in contant contact with it. #Most manufacturers will only uses metals that have minimal reaction with aluminum.

I hope they're short or it could be awhile... still only 3 minuets! What will they think of next? Maybe 2 Opuses or a single Waltz?
