Not sure...that's from a 1930's vintage 10kw Western Electric transmitter. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif They look a lot bigger than 8008s though.

Methinks the six shown would comprise a full-wave, three phase rectifier.

Yip...that was pretty standard. The seventh one in the distance was a hot standby spare....had filaments on all the time to keep the mercury vaporized. (Here, feller, put on some rubber gloves and move the plate cape over http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif )

I believe they are 575A's. Same socket as the 872A, but will handle higher voltage and current.
