I just heard on the TV news out of Tucson (Channel 4) that there is a "Boycott" as such that is being recommended for Hispanics in the area.

They recommend not going to work and not spending any money because the rules and laws currently on the books are making life too hard on the illegal immigrants.

They can't be serious!!

I guess this means that we can send the Border Patrol/Homeland Security folks home. 600,000 arrests here in AZ last year were not required and hard on the people came came here illegally.

They probably are serious, but who cares?

It'll work just fine until the beer runs out.

Try going into Mexico, or any other country for that matter, and expect or demand free anything, much less something such as medical care, education for you and your kids.

Try going to France, and expect free education and medical etc for yourself and ur kids and then demand THEY speak and have signs, books, etc etc in YOUR language. They'll toss you out so fast your shoes will be left standing at the pier.

The rest of the world is picking us clean with the help of our own politicians and businesses at all levels, and we, the poor overtaxed citizen, are paying OUR way AND THEIRS!

You would be surprised at the enormous amounts of money our politicians give as aid to other countries, then look at how often they vote with us at UN meetings.

Mostly it is less than 12% of the time they vote in favor of the United States.

Our politicians need a good rap upside the head to get them thinking about what they are there for!

HELLO POLITICANS! it's we the people....

Here in California, we have "representation" by Barbara Boxer.
Suddenly, "taxation without representation" sounds pretty good.

Yes, I know her.

I was employed by Mare Island Naval Shipyard and lived in Vallejo when she was elected as our representative.

She and Diane Feinstein. What a pair to draw to.

Strange - the funny thing is that so many in the Hispanic community - the legal ones - are opposed to the illegals too.
People whose families have been in California since it was part of Spain are sick of being hassled about their citizenship.

Years ago, it was Cesar Chaves and Farm Workers Union that was out front fighting for tighter immigration control. They had their own version of the 'Minutemen' going for a while, because the legal migrant workers didn't want the competition from the illegals.

America has borders that are not naturally very defensible. Even if we fortified both northern and southern borders, it would require an army to patrol them, and our coastlines would still be wide open for an end-run on the barriers. The best solution is to help Mexico eliminate its misery and get it to control its side of border, rather than encouraging people to cross the border, as they do now.

You definitely need to work on your spanish

Translation
BUENO! No trabajo, no comido
Good, I no work, I no eaten.

EL starvo y boyo backto Mexico, Hmm mui estupido.
(no such word as starvo, but assuming starvo meant starve. you said #"he I starve". #

Y boyo #should be "Y voy" #which translates to and I go.

mui should be muy and translates to very.

So the translation with english mixed with spanish is:

Good, I no work, I no eaten. #He I starve, and I go back to mexico. #Hmmm, I very stupid.

I'm not making fun of you, I just hate to see spanish butchered like that.

So, with the majority of us being Americans, let's boycott things Mexican to show our displeasure with this 'idea'.

Except Taco Bell, which is American (I believe Pepsi owns it) and without them, there'd be no Taco Bell Award!

Cinco de Mayo this. Remember Montezumas Revenge!

Actually, Yum! Brands owns Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, A&W (the restaurant, not the root beer), and Long John Silver's. Pepsico sold their interest in the restaurant chains in 2001 or 2002.

Whereas when I go to Mcdonalds, "fi dollar" is ok? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif I wish they would have the same consideration about butchering english.

Not to mention having to do extra steps when I go to the ATM - press 1 for spanish, 34656455 for english. Or call up a business... etc

Why not butcher spanish, it shouldn't be a 2nd national state language here so much anyway.

Hi again,

"I'm not making fun of you, I just hate to see spanish butchered like that."

Hmmm, somehow it was funny when Lucy busted Desi's chops with broken Spanish. I love Lucy, do you? (;->) BTW, Desi's machine gun delivery wasn't a put on, you have to have fast ears to keep up with a Cuban.

Right, our southern border is so "naturally indefensible" the government installed way stations in the desert so the wet backs wouldn't die in the broiling sun. Guess who paid for the "bridge" across our best natural defense? Hmmm, seems NOW we're beginning to sympathize with Chuck Bronson's frustrations, watch the movie again and see things from a new perspective.
