Some one remember to check the DUMPSTERS after the hamfest is over...no telling what kind of rigs you will find in there !!
ALL RIGHT!! In the same hall that the GUN SHOW uses, I know it well.
Notes to self:
1. Huge sombrero hat with callsign plastered on it
2. Old torn T-shirt 3 sizes too small, ample gut protruding
3. Don't shower for week prior
4. Don't brush teeth for week prior
5. Dust off those way-cool yellowish 70s/80s sunglasses
6. Get old junker off the blocks in backyard, prepare for journey
7. Place 250 magmounts on roof of junker; at least one 20 foot whip
8. If female...don't go
9. Work on blustery, know-it-all-better 'tude
10. Strap on a half-dozen "vintage" 30-pounder brick HTs to the belt (always have to keep in touch with the "talk-in" freq)

If Dayton had its poop together they'd run the Farting Olympics to coincide with the Hamvention. Probably be able to double attendance.

Stay as far away as possible. Not near as much fun as it was years ago. Besides, way too many people in one building at one time. Can you say 'claustrophobia'? Not to mention the downsides mentioned by WF7I. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

If I did not live so far away, you would first find ME in the dumpster, looking for those rigs, or parts thereof--

no need to dive, the stuff that ends up in the dumpster is the real bottom end junk, the better junk is left behind in the parking lot on Sunday, picked over, then it is hauled away to the dumpster by the cleanup crew
