I was scanning through the 1.25m band while driving from Maryland to Pennsylvania... and later on a return... and noticed some activity. My radio is a dual-band 2m and 70cm, and I was curious if there is a programming modification that opens the 1.25m band as well.
I know there probably isn't, but curiosity seems to be the wholemark of this hobby.
Thanks for any replies.

Hi Rich and readers,
I checked out Mods DK for that one and all I came up with was expanding TX to cover RX on 2M and 70cM, the usual "cop radio" conversion. Two people asked about the 1.25M TX possibilities and received no replies so I must assume that transmit on that band isn't possible or the mod is unknown.
I guess that's why myself and others employ a 1.25M FM rig along with the others unless some lucky fellow still has an old tri-bander in working condition. Being 220mHz is not harmonically related so a tripler and separate power module won't cut it and a whole transmitter being expensive those rigs proved unprofitable due to poor sales and were discontinued a couple of years after introduction.
Bottom line, go for an Alinco DR-235. It works for me.

I'm happy with the radio, it works great. I was just curious if it was doable. Oh well, I spend most of my time on 2m anyway! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
