My wife yells at me for being on the 'pewter' too much but that is the only boss I have these days.

I'm the captain on shift and we have a dedicated DSL line. Since most my day is spent at the computor anyway I just multi-task. As long as the reports are done nobody cares.
At home, now that a different story, especially in the spring time. Lately it seems I live in a rain forest and it won't quit growing! http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

First of all if you got fired for posting on QRZ you would have to be a contender for the Darwin Award.
If you posted it on the Internet for all the world to enjoy your stupidity you would be in the top 10 finalist's. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

When I worked for a large company (now self employed:) ), I would read QRZ during lunch break.
This was fine until the "IT police" blocked my access to QRZ!
But I still had access to the online company procedures manual (ie Dilbert http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif ).

At my company, they tell you that you can surf the Internet during lunch and after work -- But stay off the "naughty" sites.
And some of the "no-no" sites are automatically blocked -- porn, gambling, computer gaming. Interestingly, I tried to look at the Web site of a fellow sax player from Holland. THAT was blocked, presumably because they assumed all Web sites in The Netherlands are dirty. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

At my work (public school system) they have a porn filter on all the internet accessible computers. Once I tried to bring up a site that carries data on HF antenna engineering and it blocked it as "forbidden".

The way it gets around here sometimes I would have thought the Jerry Springer Show more appropriate. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
