As the Patriot Act appears to be evolving, "All in the name of our health & safety, Of Course".

How long will it be before we, in the USA, will be required to show Passports, or some other "secure ID" when crossing state lines?

In my thinking we all will lose our freedoms in "The name of Health and Safety", and now "Homeland Security" It seems to be a catch-all phrase that compells those in washington to sign bills that keep stripping the constitution of our rights and freedoms.

Are there other ways to be totally secure in any country without implementing total and unconditional control of it's citizens?

Is a trade-off of freedom worth a secure lifestyle? Or can that ever exist?

Lets hear some comments.

If your state is a foreign country, maybe not too long.

I would hope it would never get that far, but these days you just never know. Just keep paying attention to what's going on...

It's already getting to be a "papers please" society. I'm 62 and lately at the supermarket where I have been shopping for 25 years, they won't sell me beer without carding me. No way in hell anyone could not tell that I'm old enough to buy beer.

Then a friend of mine said some place refused to sell him a cigarette lighter because he didn't have an ID card on his person.

I give them hell every time. I make them ask me for it, then I tell them how stupid it makes them look.
