If your in a townhouse what are the details?
Are you in an end unit? If so load the rain gutter with a tuner. If your sandwiched it's going to be harder to avoid rf interference with some neighbors I'm sure.
Does it have an attic, if so do you have access? If so how long is it. If you have access put a short dipole up there or a slinky dipole with a tuner.

I lived in one, a end unit 3 story, for 22 years before this house and worked the world on HF with the rain gutter(downspout) in the rain/snow and the attic dipoles etc no problem. And on occassion ran a coax out the window to the vehicle.

No, they don't come near an outside antenna but they work very well. Also lots of possibilites if you in an end unit with mobile whips, screwdriver antennas etc.

Im sure many others can improve on my suggestions also. Good luck Gary N2ACX
