NASA World Wind

The NASA World Wind program (http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/download.html) is a remarkable global mapping project. Although it requires downloading a huge program (almost a gig), it really is worth it to see aerial and satellite photos as well as areas in the news.

I like the parts that let you fly through mountain ranges. It does take awhile to learn many of its features so patience is required.

Hi OES and readers,

I'm not about taking forever and a day downloading it nor am I about to waste drive space when several other sites on the Web feature sat photos. Not about Flight Simulator either, I'll leave flying through the mountains to the gamers. Might be fun but not for me.
