Would a 13WPM General Class make a good Pope?
What do you think the Vadican vote will produce?

Hi Terry and readers,
"What do you think the Vadican vote will produce?"
Clouds of black smoke undoubtedly. We'll just have to wait until it turns white to find out who the next world leader will be. An American in the Vatican is a snowball in....
Rome.

He is WAY to mixed up in the abuse "situation." He probably should have been sacked.

K7FE,
Well your news sources are stating different than mine. The word I get there is very little chance that an American will be elected POPE.
I hear they are giving very little consideration to the Americans and the Irish catholic church as the scandel with little boys was far too great and those in the #Vatican want to distance themselves.
Besides I hear the Americans accept the church but ignore the rules of the Vatican, and they are not too pleased over that.
The two countries that are favored odds are Venice ,and Italy, each has a couple of promising candidates.
As they say in a little less than 3 weeks we all will be waiting to see the white smoke. # # # # # # # # # # # #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
POST EDIT:
OK I stand corrected,so the chief Catholic Honcho in Venice and the Honcho's from other parts of Italy are the best odds on favorites at this point.

Venice is not a country, it is a city in Italy.

Interesting you mention that. I know Roger Mahony and have known him for many years. He taught two seminars I went to when I was in High School.
No matter what he may be caught up in, my opinion is, he was a good man. I can't vouch for who or what he is now. But back in 1985, he was a Godly man.

Aint Venice that town where they ride jet ski s in the streets ?
An American has no chance. But wouldn't it be a sight to see. A tri-band beam next to the dome of St. Peter's. and getting a QSL from HV1?

A ham in the vatican. Yep, reminds me of the cartoons with a yagi atop the White House back in '64. Of course that never happened either did it?
I do believe we're likely to see a third world pope. They now account for over half of the College of Cardinals. The third world is also where the majority of "new" Catholics is.
How many of you can handle that?
One thing's for certain; it will be a long time before there is another dynamic loving Holy Father. John Paul II was a unique gift we of the human race were blessed to have for over a quarter of a century.

I really couldn't care less, but it seems to me that being "younger than 80" (years old) is a pretty crappy qualifier for Pope.
I see that the presumed front-runners are mostly in their seventies, except one Cardinal from Mexico City who's younger -- and looks healthier than the others.
An American Pope? Doubt I'll live to see that happen.

Then Mahoney has a decent shot. If LA isn't "Third World," I don't know what is.
Hmmm, does the Vatican still have a code test?
73,
Bill
I wouldn't mind at all if the next one is from a third world country. Cardinal Azide is ok in my book.
Would like to see Cardinal Lustiger (Paris) get the nod.
He's Jewish by birth. There would be irony all over the place
Vatican Code test? Wonder if there is a theory test.
Probably none needed for a pope.
When King Hussein ,JY1, was alive, who gave him a test? He was the king after all.

JY2. Same person who made him take out the garbage.

Which one was JY2?
Queen Noor was the wife he had before he died but JY2 was one of the earlier ones. Or did he just do a callsign tranfer?

That was the cover od CQ magazine, if my gray matter hasn't gone TOO gray. A nice tower supporying a tri-bander and some inverted-vees above the papal apartment would be a nice touch.

JY2's name is Muna, the Queen before Noor (JY2NH)

It was on the cover of a 73 magazine in 1964.
Also there was a hilarious story about LBJ trying to learn the code and get licensed so he could get the ham vote.

I will have to see if I can find it, It would certainly be an interesting cartoon..
on ElectAPope.com the ham has only gotten 10 votes..
