It takes all kinds, huh? Kinda looks like Billy Bob in Arkansas is feeling some heat and has his little woman Kim selling it for him. Ha!
I am suprised that the front display does not show 27 mhz.
Notice the guy says "Everything works, like its SUPPOSED to"
HAHA!

Ha y'all good buddies,
"I am suprised that the front display does not show 27 mhz."
Oh yes it does, even without the mod. If you like you can program the alpha display to show the channel numbers if you like. I prefer to name them but I'll leave you guessing as to what I call them.
The actual mod allows the transmitter to track the receiver DC to light so you can program in the cops and label them as you like. Then they label YOU.
Then there are all those other frequencies you can play pirate on, yo ho ho and all that.
Don't forget it's a versitile mobile rig, you'll have the customers fuming at the local burger joint and the pimple face wondering why his boss told him to stick his head in the fryer.
I love my Icom 706Mk2GREAT and it loves me, we have so much fun together.

For those who might be considering performing these mods on a perfectly good TRX.Give it some serious thought how long you are willing to keep the rig, because any one would have to be pretty green and wet behind the ears to buy a rig after it has been modified. Most would not touch it with a 10 foot pole,to para phrase an ole saying "once you mod it ,it's yours".

Hi hUEY and all,
Being a boat anchor fan from when they were new my motto is "Never irreversably modify anything.". Today that means careful PCB work rather than crushing a surface mount component.
"Most would not touch it with a 10 foot pole,to para phrase an ole saying "once you mod it ,it's yours"."
The key word here is "most", I once bought a modded out rig at a hamfest after the mod was properly explained to me. I don't mind, just never was tempted to jam police frequencies is all. Another instance was a National NC-303 with a VERY good AGC mod done by an engineer. I left it as-is when I sold it, no point in giving someone a receiver with an inherent shortcoming.
I have downloaded and saved the PLL mods for my IC-706Mk2G and Alinco DR-235 for reference (part of elmering) although I have no personal need to modify the equipment. The mods are particularly useful for those of us who want to transmit on 60M for one thing.
I have seen some BUTCHERED rigs and wonder "what the hell was he thinking"! I pass them all by, I don't need alien technology to contact the mother ship, that's why I carry this communicator badge disguised as a flag on my lapel.
OOPS! Here come those men in black wearing the dark, black rim shades now that I have revealed Bush's secret. Gotta beam up in a hurry, BYEEEE!
It went for $861.
Go figure......
Of course any wideband transmit mod will open up the so called "freeband" I opened up my FT-100 for 60 meter use. I guess I can get a lot more for it because it will also transmit on the "freeband"

Can't resist,
"I guess I can get a lot more for it because it will also transmit on the "freeband"
NOW you're catching on to how I used to rip-off the CBers! Just post it on ePay and hype the living daylights out of it, worth it's weight in gold.
Catch ya at the key down good buddy and be sure to wear your chain mail underwear, well grounded of course.

hmmm.....what an idea !!
Correct me if I'm wrong. Couldn't the buyer actually purchase a new radio for the same price?
