Hi, I am looking for a extention cable for my standard radio. I purchased a couple of these used and they are great radios. Pity they went out of buisness.

Does anyone know where I can get the mic extention cables or a schematic and the connectors (ok I have a meter I can do without the scematic) making the conectors would be a pain though.

Thanks a bunch!

Standard was actually bought by Yaesu - and the company is now known as Vertex Standard. (http://www.vertexstandard.com/) They are still using the Yaesu name for amateur radios, however, the Cypress, CA facility still has a limited supply of Standard radio parts.

Give them a call. They might be able to help.

I like your quote, one of the fellows I worked with said he would not take explosives safety courses unless the instructor still counted in base 10.

Thanks for the tip, I dont know why I didnt think of it, the customer service at yaesu has always been first rate.

thanks, Art.

Sadly the ham radio portion was not picked up by yaesu. They do not answer the emails I have sent them, maybe customer service is not what it used to be, Ill try to call next week. The 1208 uses a standard connector but the 5718 is aperantly a special connector made for standard. Ill probably make one up with hot glue and the right gauge pins, just like NASA field repairs, all that training I got might get some use again.

Thanks for your time, ARt.
