The KI3DS kids club is sponsoring their annual Kids Roundup contet. N3FJP has designed contest software when can be downloaded on his website (www.n3fjp.com)

The purpose of this contest is for kids/teenagers to work as many other kids/teenagers and other hams as possible. Its a good way to get kids/teenagers interested in ham radio, since contesting is somthing competitive, and many of the young people are very competive.

The OFs, OMs, OTs, and YLs are very welcome in the contest. As well as everyone who does not fall into those catagories. The OMs and YLs who are 18 or older can try to work as many kid stations as possible.

I will be QRV in the KD5OWO contest shack with KE5DWD, we will be using my callsign. I plan on working most of the contest period, and look forward in getting a nice score in the Multi-Op catagory. I am goin to see if I have any friends wishing to come over satruday or sunday, hoping that I can get them on the air, and many et them itnerested in getting their ham license.

I hope to hear you, I will be working mostly 15, 20 and 40 meters, but I may try to get some 10 meter DX if that band is any good.

The use of the DX clusters are allowed, and so look for me spotted on there. If you see my call, please come by and work me. I would love to tlak to some other oung people, os you have a son/daugther/grandchild please invite them to get on the air. It would be a perfect time for those who have kids with tech tickets to set up a multi-op station and get in there and compete with the family.

UD, There are not suggested operating frequencies, but I know KI3DS will be operating on or near the following frequencies: 3.920, 7.230, 14.270, 21.370, 28.370, 52.525, 146.550. The KI3DS contact is woth 25 points per band you work them on.

NTK, the only thing I know of for 2m and 70cm FM is IRLP, Reflector 9600 has been resevered for the contest

I have asked K3ASK, a member of KI3DS, and am awaiting an answer to get more information for you all.

You have a link to the contest info (rules, times, etc.) or is all that included in the logging program?

I forgot to post that.. hi..

Anyways, the contest is nearing.. So Listen for my call, and find out who's operating. I am going to try to get DWD' in here using my call for some of the contest (KE5DWD that is.. my stepbrother) of course I will be control operator.

It will be nice to have some help with operating/logging.. and it will be good to get him on HF, and he will be interested in upgradeing to general.

If I can get a hold of the local IRLP node owner to connect it to the reflector for me I may hop in...as of right now the local node(15 miles) has a Prefix on it and you have to be a member of their club to get it...

I hope you can, though I won't be on IRLP, it will be good for you to have some fun talking to other young hams.

Couple more things-
How do I become a member of KI3DS? And, I think PSK would be a nice addition, since I am not a very big fan of voice at all.

Well, we tried to make a couple contacts, but conditions to the lesser 48 were not that great on SSB.

We could hear a couple other kid stations (barely), but they could not hear us at all. About that time the neighbor kid showed up and they went out riding their bikes for the rest of the afternoon.

On the bright side, 20 was hot into Europe a couple hours later. Played around with the EA RTTY contest a bit. The kids got to hit the macros a few times, but it is not the same as using the microphone.

Yesterday when I stopped, I had 21 contacts at 1900z. I am going to start again here pretty quick. Just have to wait so I don't wake people up.
