Interesting, and good advice, but what about this:
"If you care to roll the dice and see what happens in the future, it would be best to hedge your bet and acquire more qualifications. This way you will be prepared for any additional privileges that could possibly be granted to Amateurs who already hold higher class licenses prior to any FCC changes."
What possible additional privileges? Anybody want to suggest some?

Interesting, and good advice, but it sounds like the last big push before trails end. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Hi guys,
Nothing new here except "What possible additional privileges? Anybody want to suggest some?"
It took me a while reading it over and over before cracking the ARRL code. Looks like some possible grandfathering is in the works under another licensing restructuring move. Could be the League knows something we don't? I see some of you haven't caught on.
No, not new priveliges per se, new to the "higher classes" (read above Tech) being bumped up like a Tech+ to General that's already been done. I sense consolidation keeping in line with the rest of the world, we still have too many classes. Back To The Future ring a bell to the OFs?
It just could be it's part of the reasoning they stated "Why wait? Upgrade now.". See guys, I may not know proper Morse Code but I can copy League Code pretty well. (maybe)

In the time it takes you to memorize the tests, you COULD have learned it the regular way ( duh )
It gets boring reading all these posts from the "gimme, gimme, gimme " crowd. If they could / would spend half as much time studying as they do whining & griping, they not only would have taken the test, they would have PASSED those tests and be " on-the-air " communicating...but then some folks will argue with a stop sign.

Hi guys,
"In the time it takes you to memorize the tests, you COULD have learned it the regular way ( duh )"
Well, that doesn't apply to me, with 30 years of aquired knowlege and experience under my belt I aced the test in 15 minutes and walked away with a 100% score. The only thing I had to memorize was the sub-band alocations and that's something you ALL memorized.
"tech+ has not been upgraded to general."
Oh yes it has, I forgot the date, but Tech+ N prefix licenses prior to it were grandfathered to General upon proof submitted to the FCC. Having already passed the 5WPM code test and the General tech exam given to Techs at the time they qualified as General under the restructuring.
More restructuring to come so I expect that some will qualify similarly. It remains to be seen what classes we'll end up with but I expect to see three like most other countries have. Man the bilge pumps, crying to follow like it does every time changes are made. As for me, I'll be on the smiling side even if it doesn't affect me, I'm always a cheerful guy.
